I have these. Returned twice under warranty because the left earbud stopped working. Great when they work though.

Amazon review: "Customers give mixed feedback about these wireless earbuds' sound quality, with some praising the bass while others report static and beeping sounds. Moreover, the charging ability and functionality receive negative reviews, with multiple customers reporting that the earbuds don't charge properly and stop working immediately. Additionally, the earbuds frequently fall out of the ears and have poor Bluetooth connectivity. The noise cancellation feature also receives mixed reactions, with some finding it good while others say it's a joke, and durability is a concern as they break within the first two years of use."

I don't understand why companies sell defective products at a discount. Don't they suffer damage to their brand and lose money dealing with defects?
Because they can't sit on the inventory and write it off. What they can do is sell it for a loss. The issues plaguing the buds aren't dangerous to the individual. Should the item prove to be defective, JBL will honor their warranty within the given time frame. What the company, and any company in this position, are hoping for is that you'll be too "preoccupied" with other things to deal with it and just toss them without going through the warranty process OR hope the item works long enough and only becomes a problem after the warranty expires. As I stated, some will take the crap shoot and pay the generously discounted $30 to hope they get a good pair.

Typically noise canceling applies to steady noise. Ie. Air conditioning, motors humming, airplane motors. Noise isolating is a decrease in all sounds.

Noise isolating headphones are basically old school ear protection like shooting earmuffs. Noise canceling are electronic headphones that have a microphone that picks up external sounds and sends a canceling sound wave to .......cancel the noise. These are what is being discussed here They can and do cancel car horns, sirens, dogs barking and any other noises. Yours may block some or all of those noises depending on if you get a $20 pair of noise cancelling headphones or a $1000 pair oh high quality noise cancelling headphones. Mine are mid they are a $500 pair of Sony active noise cancelling headphones ( no where on the headphones themselves, the website or the manual do they say isolating) and they certainly block many noises! I quit wearing them to watch TV at night because my dog would be 2 feet away and I couldn't hear it barking to go outside and my wife woke up yelling asking why I was just letting the dog bark for 10 minutes Stick Out Tongue I didn't hear it at all and a dog bark isn't a steady noise like airplane engine or train sound!

I experienced the same in Firefox, but I think it's due to an extension, I was able to check out if I switched to private browsing mode or with Edge.

Exactly right.. Fun fact. Pink Floyd experimented with active noise cancellation long before it was made mainstream. How it works is it uses a microphone that listens for noise (noise being defined as any unwanted sound) then it accurately reproduces the same noise, but 180 degrees out of phase, and these opposite waveforms cancel each other out. Anyone who's accidentally wired 2 subwoofers out of phase understands this concept better than most. 2 subwoofers wired out of phase will make very little noise. It's exactly how active noise cancellation works.

have google fast pair so presume good switching between many devices.

lack of quality reviews of audio quality is worrisome. guess worth a chance at $30
