Costco is worth better deal imo even if it's not the cheapest price for their extended return policy whereas Amazon doesn't. If the Dyson ever breaks or has some issue, Costco will take it back for full refund.

I know a lot of people like to return years old stuff to Costco for refunds. I don't do that - if it's past the warranty period I'll take it for what it is. Seems disingenuous to return a heavily used several years old vacuum but I know people do that. We actually just had our old v11 die - we bought it 4 years ago and used it daily, could return it to Costco but seems wrong to do that - Dyson earned my $500 imo.

True but Costco does ban for returns abuse. Not worth it if you shop at Costco a lot.

I agree with your position. But I think Costco is partially responsible here by continuing to offer "lifetime satisfaction guarantee" to attract members or promote sales. The Company can easily put a time limit, e.g., capped at XX years after warranty or in no event exceeding YY years, but it chooses to maintain the ambiguous language that leads to reported abuse of its generous return policy. Costco changed its policy years ago to 90 days on many tech items, so it seems to be on them to change their policy to curb member returns if they want to
