I'm trying to make an account with an email I haven't used with Sam's for at least a year but it won't let me and says it's renewal account? What do I need to do?

In the past I've had to call them and ask them to release the email address to reuse it for a new membership offer. Or you can use a different email address.

My membership was expired for about a year and I signed up with the same exact information. It asked me on two different sections if I wanted to renew or join/new member. I was logged out of my account at the time because if you are logged in, I don't think it gives you the same options. It sent me a 2FA code to my email as well. I continued through the checkout and purchased. I am signed up as a new member. I can now log in to my account with the same email/phone number but it is a new membership number and my sams cash (less than 1 dollar I had in there was gone). If your membership has been expired for a while, you may be able to do the same, just click new member/join (never click the renew option). Also, my phone number, email, and address were all verified on my account from last time so that didn't impact it. Maybe it was the length of time it was expired but I didn't have any issues.

make a free gmail account and use a different phone number (spouse maybe) you can change the phone number after getting your new card

Thanks I was waiting for this!! I joined with an email I had used a few years ago for a Sam's acct. At the end of the process after entering credit card it said "You look familiar, have we seen you before?" and the first time I said "YES RENEW MEMBERSHIP" and it errored out of the whole process (said "PAGE NOT FOUND" then prompted me to log in at Sams.com). The second time I marked "NO, REGISTER AS NEW" or similar wording and it worked. So if you're joining with an email you've used at Sam's before, make sure to say NO.

VPN? Do they ask for your phone number? It's either that or they recognize your IP address i'd assume. Soda Is A Good Beverage
