Man I really hate QLC but the price is not bad. I don't need 1 right this second so I'm going to hold out for TLC.
EDIT: After reading up on this a little more Im sticking with the Crucial P310. Why??? What hasnt been discussed is heat thats generated. If you are using a 2230 for a hanheld game console I'd suggest this over the WD sn770 which generates a lot more heat. The Crucial P310 uses a Phison ET27 controller which generates far less heat. Sure I want a drive that last longer too but Id rather have a drive with lower life span than potentially brick my handheld game console. I made that the mistake of buying a hotter ssd in my laptop.

Interesting... so we're talking about a trade off between average number of write cycles before failure (WD) and higher heat output (Crucial P310)? Or is it some other factor?I'm only writing to my SSD for new game installs and saves, occasional OS updates, not very intensive. I don't know how often SteamOS writes to storage; does that still use virtual RAM or is that a thing of the distant past?
Which one is better to upgrade my Mac mini m4? crucial or WD?
Honestly it depends on the cooling capabilities. If your mac has good cooling Id definitely go with the WD. Monitor temps though.
Your Mac cost a lot more than the ssd. Id suggest checking the Mac forums for others that upgraded for average temps. You wouldnt be the first to upgrade. It definitely has better cooling than a handheld gaming console so youd should be fine with a 2tb WD. Always choose the better drive unless cooling is an issue.
To answer Starscream615 ..... yes WD SN770M 2tb is tlc.

Edit: Nevermind i went and looked it up. TLC does indeed seem to be the better purchase.
