Kinda want the edge battery but I need an angle grinder like a hole in my head. Is this hackable? Feel like ryobi deals arent known for their hacks and i dont usually do hacks.

Even the non brushless 9000 rpm version of this is very powerful. Was using it the other day with a diamond turbo blade for $6 to cut through concrete. It was like cutting through butter and vibration was very low. Ryobi in general has come a long way. Used to prefer DeWalt but not tend to go with Ryobi for similar power but lower price

Seems like a good deal but can't honestly think of a need for it right now. Why might I be glad to have an angle grinder on hand?

This Ridgid kit is 50 bucks less. It's not brushless, but it has a lifetime guarantee (either yours or the company's, I guess) and there are adapters available for other battery systems (unlike Ryobi's).

I recently used this thing to cut off one of the Master Lock pro series locks. https://allpadlocks.com/products/...el-padlock
Based on the look of the lock I thought it was going to be a chore but it only took like 15 seconds with the included disc.

Does the reciprocating saw ever go on sale without the battery? I just need the saw.

I used mine the other day to cut the metal rail to length for some Ikea cabinets. Cut through it in a few seconds.

Unless you plan to use an angle grinder a lot and/or need it to be cordless, just get a corded version at Harbor Freight for around $15. IMO, this is the one power tool where you don't need it to be high end or special in any way.

Good deal. The fact that it includes the edge battery is a great inclusion. The edge battery goes on sale for $99 regularly, haven't seen it less than that. I'm moving to a full set of edge batteries since they make the high current draw tools work much better (vacuum, saws, multi-function tool, impact wrenches). They output more current at a lower weight - performs equivalently to an 8ah HP battery in some tests. In for one for the battery and to have a angle grinder.

In the last year I've used my brushed version to:

- Cut metal fence posts
- Cut concrete board
- Sharpen a beat to heck Pulaski (Axe/Hoe combination tool)
- de-bur metal edges

You need different discs for each of those activities, but they're generally pretty cheap.

There are adapters available for Ryobi batteries as well. I use a Ryobi to dewalt all the time.

I'm not a bike thief, I can't imagine encountering any situation that makes me want to pay the premium entailed by going cordless.
