I switched to Tapo when I moved and they've worked out for me so far - I got a Tapo hub and am sending the data to that instead of their cloud.

Biggest issue, I guess, is they have so many different cameras that it's sorta hard to decide which one is best for a specific situation.

I agree with this. Also the cameras all have different feature sets. Even cameras that look the same have different versions where night vision and recognition capabilities are different. Some have pet detection, some don't. Some have baby crying or cat meow detection, some don't. Some you can download clips from on any network, some you have to be the same SSID. You can "clip" from playback on network but remotely can only record the playback as you watch it. It is seriously confusing.

I plan on using blue iris at some point, so these tapo cams are nice since you can use them with that easily when the time comes.

As long as they don't cut them off like they did some of the older cams. Make sure they can't auto update their firmware.

You'd rather pay $10 a month to Apple instead of $10 to Ring?

I don't want to rely on `1 coder` to have control over my security recordings. Keyword: `security`.

I'd rather to have a $2T company to do that for me.

$18/ea [amazon.com] for specs nearly as good as the C120 (which are $30/ea nowadays) had to snag, thanks (+rep).

One review did say they leaked (not waterproof), so will test carefully and return if not as represented.

Adding to array with Motion [github.io], which is open source and free.
