if you're reading this thread and this comment makes no sense to you, what they mean is add the motherboard, memory and 9800x3d CPU as standalone items, and the price in cart comes to 570 rather than 630. do not buy the bundled listing.

Watch out if you purchase ASRock motherboard to use with this CPU. ASRock has highest CPU failure rate. ASRock community on Reddit for more information. https://old.reddit.com/r/ASRock/
ASRock has handled this issue poorly, very little communication to customer. We still don't know why AMD CPU's are dying at much higher rate on ASRock motherboards over competitors. ASRock rep said ASRock would cover RMA shipping cost both ways, lots of customers have reported they had to pay shipping.

As much as I want to jump on this, I still have a 7700x. I think I'll wait a year for Zen 6. That'll cover the first and last gen of AM5 quite nicely, getting the most usable life from the hardware.

This is a good deal - I wish Best Buy would price match to out-of-town Microcenters... They will IF the MC is in your town but I just get rejected b/c there is not one where I live.

I have a 5090/7800X3D and play at 4K. I can't imagine a 9800X3D would give me much of a performance increase at this resolution, but for some reason I still want one LOL
