Good TV. I wish there were some comparisons/reviews between this and the Bravia 8B. It's like the second one doesn't even exist.

there are a handful of TV YouTubers i follow that talk about the two TVs. rtings also seems to have a comparison. i think the price differences are probably worth considering though. the b8ii is insanely expensive. but with either TV though you are getting Sony's A++ software and processing slapped onto WOLED or QDOLED so they both are generally more highly rated than the top LG or Samsung.

the channels i know of and actually trust for good information are

Rtings

HDTVTEST

stop the fomo

brians tech therapy

they all have various shootouts with multiple high end TVs matched against each other. bravia 8ii won one of the most recent HDTVtest shootouts. stop the fomo and brians tech therapy have similar shootouts where they livestream and discuss the tvs.brians tech therapy also has a short top/bottom video with both TVs

Thanks but the Bravia 8B is different from the Bravia 8ii. That's part of the confusion that the names are similar-ish but they are very different TV's. WOLED vs QD OLED for one.

The Bravia 8B doesn't have any reviews yet for it that I have seen and that is disappointing as it is the more affordable of the two and for people not looking to spend 2700 on a 65".

I'm torn between the c5 and the 8b... I'm leaning towards the sony just for the built in next gen tuner...

The Bravia 8B OLED TV (model number typically K-XXXR8B) is generally a retailer-specific version of the standard Bravia 8 OLED.The main differences reported are that the 8B lacks the XR Contrast Booster feature and the Sony Pictures Core movie credits/promotional package compared to the standard Bravia 8. Otherwise, the core OLED panel, resolution, and XR Processor are usually the same, resulting in very similar picture quality.

I know I just wish there was rtings or other professional reviews of the TV and how much PQ difference this XR Contrast Booster feature deletion makes in practice. Agree it should be slight if anything but would like that verified before buying one.
