I've been using Domino's gift cards for probably 5+ years and never had a problem. There are two restrictions: gift cards can't be used on future orders made online and can only be used two at a time.

AFAIK gift cards can not be used on future orders, so you can't pay for tomorrow's pizza and then cancel an order to get a refund. That's the same for any business, it gets messy trying to refund gift cards. You can use a GC for a normal order though.

I like Dominos, but every time I see one of these deals, there's at least 1 comment stating how the gift cards present problems. Dominos does not allow you to use gift cards online, or store credit in your profile, so you need to do in-store. And then for people who make that effort, they find that their gift cards don't have a balance and they got screwed from gift cards purchased who knows how long ago.

Are these complaints overblown?
I bought a digital gift card from Best Buy (they have/had 15% off) and I was able to make a purchase online as soon as I got my card. Only thing* I couldn't pay was the driver tip, which was annoying, but not a huge deal.

It should be. I used to load them up in Samsung Pay, but they haven't been working for me for the last 4 to 6 months. I have loaded them in my Google Wallet and they do update the balance.

I've never had an issue using GCs at Domino's. In fact you can actually use multiple cards. Come on Costco... match!

I live near one in Hollywood. No shade on the employees. Domino/franchise is so cheap they have one or two people working at peak hours running around doing everything all at once. Domino has this way of telling you the order is ready (to make their wait times look good) and then you get there and they say oh 3-5 more mins. Anyway, crap food is only made crappier by not staffing the place to ensure at least an attempt of making something edible and not raw or just plain gross. If Domino can't afford to pay employees then it needs to go away rather than serve crap that repeats on you more than an episode Friends.

I had problems with the last batch of GCs I bought from Costco. Dominos' website would reject the card numbers... but re-entering identical numbers and resubmitting would often work. Sometimes it wouldn't and I'd have to use the app - which would again, sometimes work, sometimes not.

It was aggravating although at 30% off, I found the annoyances worth it. That said I've never had so many problems with store-branded gift cards than I have had with the Domino's gift cards.

+1. I've been using Domino's GC online for the past 2+ years. Also, never had any issues with Costco purchased cards.

Same. The pizza tastes ok but when they have the deals it is worse! They back up and if you drive there thinking its ready be prepared to sit in the parking lot an extra 30min. A worker told me on these deals they make up for cost and running out of toppings and needing to go to the back and refill by shorting the amount they put on your pizza. If I order 5 toppings I should get lots on it but its a game to find each bit. At $7 it's a deal but I don't like I cant load up the cards to my account and not need to keep track of them. I think I'll pass. The pizzas are small also. A sams or costco pizza is easily twice the size and weight of cheese. To me it is fair to compare the value and size to a frozen pizza. Those are $5 and up so it's a winner there but don't expect too much.
On a related note on shrinkage. I got Wendys for the first time in years. Their $8 two cheeseburgers combo and a $3.50 chicken sandwich. The burgers were better but when I unwrapped them they are almost like sliders now 😅 I will repeat on the burgers because of taste. Being half size they must be thinking of my diet?😉 On SD topic buy their $1 halloween couponset and get a nice minicup icecream "frosty" with about 5 coupons per $1 card. No hassle to redeem them with order.

Gotta keep track of all your gift cards in a spreadsheet or something.

Even though the deal says expired, the deal is still available at Sam's. Looks like it is restocked

Nice deal.
Question: when paying for pizzas using gift cards, do you still earn Domino's points towards free stuff?

edit: didn't see there were three pages of replies on the post. apologies if already asked and answered
