I've owned both and I hate the kind with the basket. My first air fryer was a basket style and didn't understand the hype of air fryers. It mostly sat unused on my counter before it started collecting dust in the back of a cabinet. The amount of surface area you have to cook & crisp in the basket style is extremely limited. So it feels like you can (realistically) only cook a couple of tiny things at once. When I upgraded to the "toaster oven style," I immediately understood the hype and fell in love. It's just a better toaster oven, and I've always loved my toaster oven.

Very pretty but lets the heat out through the small gap between the doots. So good for quick stuff but stuff that requires 20+ min in a conventional oven won't come out right. But quick air frying or toast generally OK

i have convection/air fry ovens, a ninja all in one air fryer grille as well as a basket and the basket seems to move the heat around the best leading to more crisp but it is less versatile
the ninja crispi is probably the best one i have owned for the crisping but thats not to say the others wont do a good job. i feel a lot of all the all in ones are solid at doing everything but not the best at anything one thing.
i feel even the cheaper baskets do a solid job at air frying because of how quickly most of them move the air around
This model is great for someone that needs more cooking space than traditional baskets while having regular heating capabilities as well (ie perfect size for pizza can roast too). it is a solid machine but if you just want something to air fry some fries or chicken tenders from time to time purely just looking for something to air fry and already have a a lot of good kitchen appliances (toaster, oven) then maybe just grab a cheap basket.
people that own one of these will usually never replace with a basket style even if its better at air frying because they feel they would be losing too many features

We have this, bought it from Costco and it is great but we had to get three before getting a good one. First one had a huge dent, second ones control panel just randomly beeped, but the third one finally worked and is working great. It's very big inside and on the counter. The air fry isn't that great but overall a fantastic machine.

We have an aging breville, similar to this. We love it, but the damn thing is showing its age. It's over 5 years old. Never heard of this brand and curious about its quality, if it's comparable to breville. I know breville is an expensive brand name. Would love to spend half the price and get something decent!
