I second the charging case recommendation. I bought a few before, open box stuff from Micro Center & Amazon. The charging case by itself is like $80, I initially thought I'd be able to grab it later but it made absolutely no sense because it just made building this from random things more expensive.

Also, $100 for everything is a sweet deal.

I have dji mic 1, and use it with a7s3. Planning on buying DJI Osmo pocket 3, does it make sense to sell mic 1 and buy this instead?

I ordered the DJI Mic Mini at the full retail price of $169 a few months ago because I figured since DJI doesn't discount their stuff often, I thought it'd be a while before I saw any sales. Turns out I was wrong and I'm surprised the DJI Mic 3 was released soon after.

Anyway, the mics are pretty handy to have in my camera bag as they don't take much space and sound quality is pretty good. One major thing I didn't like though is that you really do need line of sight for a stable transmission. On one shoot, I was following the interviewer with my camera as he was walking and talking while his back was facing the camera and his voice kept cutting out even though he was only 6-8 feet away from me. Since the Mic Mini does not have internal recording, there was no way to salvage the audio. I'm really thinking of upgrading to the DJI Mic 3.

The charging case bundle is absolutely worth whatever the price difference is from this. I made the same mistake with the DJI Action 5 cam.

Excellent microphone! You'll be far happier getting the $99 version with the charging case. This setup is a royal pain to use without the charging case... itty-bitty, easily lost plastic USB-C adapters are needed to charge if you don't have the case.
