I used Amex points. It took $16 off the top (40%), then the code took off $20. Came to $4 plus tax.

I have one of each, I highly prefer the not self-oiling one. The other leaks and makes a mess, this one you just add a few drops every once in awhile and you're good. It's not like you're running a real chainsaw where it needs a constant flow. I've cut down a ton of branches and trees with this and was thoroughly impressed for the $21 I paid. I just hope the batteries last a few years in storage.

Got 1 and waiting to order a pole when available, tks!
The pole attachment looks expensive. I LOVE my Ryobi 8" pole saw and I have tons of batteries to use from all my other Ryobi tools. Here's a refurb from Direct Tools outlet for $65.99. Has a reservoir for chain oil. Way better deal and I'm sure more reliable if you really want a pole saw. Plus you can just use one of the pole attachments instead of both if you don't need to full length. Very easy to wield.

Oh shoot, only available in store right now for that price. They have one for as little as $53.99 refurbished. Could try ebay I guess.

Thanks for the input! My main concern is whether the Ryobi will fit this saw as is or you need attachments and for the price, you can get both saw and pole for similar saws like https://www.amazon.com/gihusrzx-C...r=8-3&th=1 including shipping. Poles and saws are sold together right now, but hopefully, you will be able to get poles alone at reasonable prices.

Got mine yesterday. Cut back two heavily overgrown shrubs. Branches about 2 & 1/2" cut easily. I used PAM canola spray to oil chain. Worked like a charm! Topped off charge on both batteries for fifteen minutes each. Needed only one battery and it still had power after. Money well spent and time saver!
Some tidbits. Canola oil used to use for machinery. When the oil was plentiful, they decided to marketing as cooking oil.

Sawzall is slow but works fine as long as the branch is big enough and close enough to the trunk that it doesn't just get wiggled wildly by the blade instead of being cut.

It just worked for me. You have to make sure to select the correct options. The post through the app, at least, did t go to the proper color/combo, etc.

Do more then 10 cuts and say that when your hand is numb from the vibration.

I bought this in July, have used it more than a handful of times, honestly thinking of getting another as back up. Best $20 you will spend.

How does this compare to the other mini-chainsaw listed here?

Saw wise, this one lacks the somewhat pointless hand guard. They are likely from the same factory or same design team. Get this one for the case and extra battery. Ideally one with the bulb oiler, but that isn't necessary if you're using it infrequently and for not much time.

I've used a saker and 4" with oiler bulb for hours at a time, across at least 6-9 months. I have almost 80 acres of timberland. They work great for limbing trees and making trails. My 7 year old wields them with confidence.
