Amazon has the "DeWalt DXAEOBD Professional 1 Amp Battery Maintainer for Use with 20V DeWalt Lithium Battery Pack"

It plugs in to your OBD port and maintains your vehicle battery via a Dewalt 20-volt battery.

Price: $12.85 $13.06

Clip coupon >>> $8.99

The price fluctuates daily, and the coupon could be regional.

In addition, I only see this coupon when I am logged in.

... so YMMV

Update: I am no longer seeing the coupon (and I'd just decided to buy it)

Previously front page at $13, popular at $15

$12.85 in New England too. Bought it anyway, because for under $13 grabbing one of my many Dewalt tool batteries sounds way easier than dragging out a second car battery and making sure it's charged for my current memory backup.

Coupon worked for me in California. The product reviews are great from some and faulty from others. Worth a shot at $9. Thanks OP

thats because dumb people don't read the directions, and use it incorrectly.
I guess dewalt could have done a better job in the instruction book, but all the good reviews are from people who can read, the bad ones are from people who have no clue how to use it....

As long as you can read the instruction book, and read a few reviews for verification, it should be a good product.

I decided to buy it even though its not the $9 one you are getting

does this do any desulfation? i could see that being a big benefit. seems like minimal utility to save vehicle settings when changing the battery once every 4-5 years.

This is a OBD port plug in to maintain "memory" while changing car batteries. It can help with storage, but you have to realize that's not what it's designed for and it stops if you change the battery unless you also unplug it from the obd and plug it back in. Many of the negative reviews are caused by that. Ultimately if you're not a mechanic you probably dont need this, even at this price.

It's more of a memory saver than a battery charger. When you plug it in to the OBDII port it keeps your accessories powered for one hour, which is long enough to change the battery or whatever. After one hour it goes to sleep. From there, it wakes up and checks your charge level every 5 hours, topping you off if voltage has dropped enough from full.

So, yeah, not really for restoring or charging batteries. It's for maintaining the time and presets when disconnecting/changing a battery and it's for keeping the battery charged when you have to park a vehicle for a long time. I guess it can also help if you have a phantom power drain that hasn't been addressed.

Will this work with a 60v flex volt battery? I see this is a obd2 port tool , this winter I would use it on a classic w/o one if I bought it. I'm sure it's not difficult to convert or get a female obd2 port and make an adapter. I wonder what kind of run time I'd get? Flexvolt 9.0 would I get a few weeks?

Yes, FlexVolt batteries work with any 20V tool.

$3.98 off coupon come up with $9.30 price for me in CA. However, there are 25% 1-star review. For me, 10% 1-star will automatic sounds the alarm, 15% or above 1-star is a no go.
