How bad is 1000r screen for productivity? I will only be using these for work.

I have a six month old G91SD which is r1800 and I feel it isn't curved quite enough for work, but I suspect r1000 is too aggressive. My monitor has already failed, Samsung support is poor as they farm out to third parties.

I've been using for productivity and I think it's great. Less moving your neck from side to side to view all parts of the monitor, and the shape makes it less prone to glare

I just got this for work. I'm very happy with it. The curve works well to keep me centered with the 50/50 split.

These monitors are doodoo FYI. If you buy one, it'll never last longer than a year max.

LG or sit on a cactus.

Where did you buy the G91SD and what happened to it? That's a crazy short time for the thing to break. Any warnings or things to look out for? I have a G91SD from the Costco deal but since I use it for full productivity I was thinking of switching from OLED to this VA so I don't have to babysit the thing. I hope I can just take it back to Costco if that happens over dealing with Samsung. At least the G91 has the three year warranty, some other models of the same thing are only one year.

Direct from Samsung, unfortunately it is a well documented problem, though for many people (and myself for a few months) it sorts itself out. A couple weeks ago it gave up when I was on an important call and things got a bit hectic. Samsung support is really bad, they have so many products it's very difficult to get a savvy tech person, in fact they only wanted to deal with me via SMS texts (no phone, email or chat). I suspect it will get resolved but I'm hesitant to buy anything but phones from them going forward.

Not the best form factor for work but not because of the 1000R, I used it for a couple years. It's basically two 27" 1440p monitors. I'd prefer 2 32" 4k monitors or even one with a smaller secondary display (like a laptop screen).

Current have 4 24" and was thinking this would be a viable option to clean up my setup.

I actually got a 45" Ultrawide LG and the contrast was brutal. Even my wife who doesn't have an eye for panel technology thought something was broken with it. I returned it -- which was a pain in the arse with LG.

I know OLED is the cat's meow... but here's the same wallpaper on the MSI OLED vs. the LG LED.

Is any deal bought from costco from an Ultrawide covered by Costco for the lifetime? I'm considering buying an Ultrawide through Costco, but I only want to do it if Costco will cover anything anytime? Samsung is horrible with support.

My understanding is that there's no guarantees as to what Costco will cover outside of their well known likelihood to take something say a year later if you were having issues. It's not a guarantee per se. The curious thing is that apparently monitors are not listed under their 90 day return policy for electronics like say a TV, so there's a theory you can bring it back anytime. But I've never done something like that and I assume that if enough people did it they would adjust the policy and or/ flag you.

Either way most people that bought through Costco did it because they assume that if they're experiencing a nightmare story like some I hear from Samsung Support, they can escalate to Costco and they're more likely to take back the monitor and get your money back than most other retailers, except for say Best buy and the like, if you buy some extended protection plan from them for the monitor.

I just couldn't pass up trying the monitor for the $599 Costco deal, knowing I can take it back in store w/o issue for at least the first 90 days or longer. There's no better deal anywhere for an OLED anything, let alone a super thin 49 inch monster w/ a 3 year warranty.

I think they might not be comparing it to that LG with VA Panel technology you tried, that indeed looks more washed out, but with the LG OLED 45 inch Monitor that's often compared to this one. It's between 1.5k to 2k currently and it looks nothing like the LG you tried. It has a higher resolution than the 49 ultrawide. (5k2k) But it's quite expensive compared to the deals in the 600-900 range for the 49 G9 Samsung QD-OLED Monitors and their sibilngs like your MSI 49'.
