I ordered this laptop twice from NewEgg. First had 71% battery capability, scuffs and no Bluetooth at all.
I returned that one and ordered a second which also has scuffs, a webcam, and different components as those listed. The hinge also has a click everytime I open it. Now in the process of returning that one as it's also not like the item description.
These laptops are really nice, still plenty fast in 2025, and I prefer windows for work but dang is it frustrating going through just to find a decent one that's actually what they're selling.
im not saying this to deter anyone from this computer but more so as a heads up that you should check your laptop when it comes to be sure you're getting what you paid for.

It has a proprietary AC adapter, and it charges via USB-C as well.

so I see there's more chatter for this post. I've recently dove into the world of used/refurbished HP elitebooks. Previously, I had only bought dell latitudes, but dell has pretty much gone to LPDDR RAM on all 7000 series latitudes for 14" and 13.3" (which is the form factor that I like). I didn't have much knowledge about the HP business line, until recently, and learned all about the world of Zbooks, Elitebooks, and Probooks. Based on what I've searched on ebay, if you are using this as just a dependable everyday laptop for yourself or family memebers, at ~$255 you can probably bumped down 1 tier in the elitebook line and look at the 640 (intel processors) or 645 (AMD processors), and get a G10 (10th generation) which will get you laptop 2 years newer than the laptop offered here which is a G8 (8th generation). For the elitebook 645 G10, you're getting either the Ryzen 5 7530U or the Ryzen 7730U. Right now, there's quite a few 645's at around $270-280 just sitting there for buy it now, and I've seen it happen enough times where if you add it to your watchlist, and it sits for like a week, the seller may offer people that "watch" the item a counter offer with like a 5% discount, which will get it close to this $255 price, but you get a better processor. And the elitebook 840/845 and 640/645 both come 2 sodimm slots for memory (so no worries about soldered ram). I think the only difference between the 8XX and 6XX line of elitebook might be the screen. The 600 line i think is just a simple 300 nit, 1900x1080 screen, while the 800 line has a better screen.

Certified refurbished is better with 2 years warranty and directly refurbished by manufacturer.

what's the downside here?
besides older processor and 6lb weight, and a tiny 256gb drive.
256gb isn't that tiny and easily upgraded.. weight is 3lbs

No webcam is an odd choice for a business laptop.

Screen ain't great but for $250 and 32GB of RAM and a decent CPU I think I'll manage.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think a MAJOR downside is that it has a proprietary AC adapter for power input (the USB-C ports are not for power). Is that correct?

I bought one, I think it is a good value.
-Backlit keyboard
-USC-C charging in addition to the barrel A/C adapter.
-The primary hard drive is easy to upgrade.
-The WWAN port could accommodate an SSD (requires an adapter)
-Mine came with a protective skin on the top lid
-No webcam.

thanks for the information I had a relative buy it so I'll make sure to get them to check it out good. Then remote in and give it the final blessing. Guessing you used some software to test the battery?
