Z5II is better for autofocus of moving subjects.

I've bought Nikon refurbished cameras twice and both times they've come looking brand new with a 0 shutter count. My last purchase was the z6ii

Z5ii or Z6ii ?
Z5ii was released this year and has the current generation processor, expeed7, for faster and additional detection modes for autofocus, while the z6ii was released in 2020 and has the previous generation's processor, expeed6, which, by most accounts at least online, has worse autofocusing abilities. For the time, people were fine or were willing to deal with the z6ii's/expeed6's autofocus, but were delighted with the improvements in expeed7. If autofocusing is a concern for you at all, even just a little, then you should get the z5ii, which people also herald as an entry-tier priced full frame camera with mid-tier features. Seriously, it's like a z6iii minus the partially stacked sensor, higher burst rates, and additional video capabilities. But maybe your style is more stationary subjects like landscapes/architecture, so autofocusing isn't a big deal and you want to save money for another lens, then the z6ii might be good enough for you. I will say that there's value in getting the newer camera though simply because you can expect more firmware updates while it's in your ownership.

If you already own Nikon and understand where this will fit into your system and understand the autofocus limitations, this could be a good deal. Probably not a great place to put $1K if you're starting out with this kind of photography - save up or wait for deals on a Z5II, Z6III, or Z50II instead.
