Chevron Techron is the only cleaner with actual data that proves its effectiveness. It is also the standard additive in all Top Tier gas.

Look for fuel injector cleaners with PEA. That is one of the only additives that breaks down carbon in direct injected engines.

This is false.

Techron is used ONLY in Chevron, Texaco and Caltex (overseas) gasoline. Other companies have their own additive packages which meet Top Tier certification.

Chevron gas has "unsurpassed" performance. This is a very carefully chosen word. It means no one is statistically better. Some may be statistically equal.

Do these kind of addictive even work with new GDI engines. I have stopped buying since I changed the car. But open for opinions.

I don't think it would do anything at all with direct injection. The image of the can says it cleans "port injection and carbureted fuel systems." Liqui Moly is a great brand, but I've always doubted their additives do much. I've used their engine flush and Ceratech on a higher-mileage car, but you really have no way of knowing whether they do anything.

Install an oil catch can... That'll be best "additive" for your GDI engine.
Cheap ones can be had on amzn for $25. Super easy to install, just keep eye on how much it collects so you know how often it needs emptying.

For me, and my 3 cars, only one has GDI, but also port injection (Toyota highlander) so no need.

This one specifically doesn't work as well as their other product, DIjectron (no kidding, that's the name) has a higher percentage of PEA/PEB.
Techron concentrate, Redline SI-01, BGK44 are the top choices, with Techron being the most widely available and often on sale.

Only real fuel injector cleaner is Techron bottle. Everything else is meh. Cheveron created and patented "PEA" aka Techron. Its the gold standard.

I know these are meant for injection but would this also work for routine additive to a small engine like a mower, blower, etc?
