These have a wider soundstage and imaging and are technically a much better pair overall

I paid 1k for these like 6 years ago. Great set. You'll truly love them.

I actually like these better than the HIFIMAN Edition XS. I like the headband better and the sound a little better. The Edition XS seem to be a little too bright / sibilant at times.

I have the Sundara, Edition XS and these. They all sound great. My preference are:
1) Ananda
2) Edition XS
3) Sundara

I just got one and I have Sundara for over a year. This is my personal take albeit not a popular one. The Soundstage is wider on Ananda and as a result instrument separation also appears better. Sundara OTOH still felt better to me overall, you lose some instrument separation, but the bass is punchier, and I overall enjoyed the music I listened to more on Sundara. Do note that Ananda are big and put a lot of pressure on my face, making them comfortable even without wearing my glasses and this made me decide to return them.

This is basically 80% off the price they were a few years ago. They retailed at $1000 before. I bought mine for $380 and felt it was an amazing deal.

I REALLY enjoy them. A simple amp like the iFi Go Link Max will drive them very well.

And FWIW, I find these to be better than the Meze 109 Pro, which sell for $800. I compared them side to side and kept the Ananda because it was the same, but better. (The 109 Pro was more comfortable and looks better, but Anada was just fine form comfort and I don't care how they look.)

Anybody have these and Focal Clear OG? Considering giving these a try since I've never tried Hifiman stuff before. I really like the Focal Clear but man the clamping force is tough to endure for long durations.
