Thanks OP--trusted Kobalt brand for cheaper than several of the other "no name" electronic screwdrivers + 5 year warranty (easy in-store swap if fails/breaks) + easy USB-C charging--ordered one for in-store pickup

. . . also opted for this electronic screwdriver over the dual drive manual kobalt screwdriver in the other thread based on this review: https://youtu.be/z_Es1ajm8t4?si=PJeOFHlH7PeGX_Rk

Looks similar to the Amazon version and so not variable speed. I would have preferred something variable speed but it's a good value regardless.

works great especially when you have long narrow threaded screws like when doing electrical work. The light is also helpful for enclosed areas. Charge lasts for a long time, even when idle for a couple months. Only thing that would make it better were if it were magnetic and maybe a bit thinner. Obviously, a lot to ask for $20.

Looks suspiciously like the Craftsman 4v screwdriver, which is $44. https://www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMA...NvEALw_wcB

Except that if they discontinue this model within the 5 year warranty, you can't use the warranty in store as you can't swap the broken unit. You have to call corporate to go through the warranty procedure (it's PITA).

Also there are plenty others on Big A store that has comparable price than purchasing this.

Are ANY of these things variable SPEED- not just torque. The one I tried was super fast no matter the torque. I don't mind paying more but want options for a slower speed.

Takes me 5 minutes to get a Kobalt RMA# when needed. Not really a PITA. No need to call Lowe's corporate, call Kobalt directly 888-356-2258.

Craftsman is made by Stanley Black & Decker (DeWalt)
Kobalt is generally made by Chervon (Skil & EGO brands)

The only one of these screwdriver type units that has both a mechanical clutch so you dont strip screws out and 2 speeds (low and high) is the metabo. They frequently go on sale for $50, comes with 2 batteries and are the highest rated one on Project Farm. So instead of wasting around $25, just pay up and get something that will work and last.
