This bundle extends both Microsoft 365 Family and NordVPN Basic by one year, and the redemption process can also trigger extra months when recurring billing is turned on. It stands out as a way to stack Microsoft coverage and VPN service in one purchase, with some comparing it favorably to older family bundle prices and conversion tricks. The main caution is activation reliability, since Microsoft redemption errors and a few invalid key reports appeared alongside warnings about auto renewal settings. A useful option if you want to stretch existing subscriptions further.
People who want to stack subscription time, because turning on recurring billing can add three extra months and one redemption reached a 15-month extension.
People who dislike subscription auto-renewal management, because VPN billing can be sneaky and may require turning off auto-renew and removing payment details.
Some redemptions have failed with Microsoft account errors such as "TokenNotInRedeemableState," "Sorry, we can't set up your account right now," and "StackBlockedDueToOrderPendingChangeRecord." Microsoft Support said it was an ongoing issue and offered a one-month extension while it is being worked on.
Yes. A 12-month Personal plan can convert to about 9 months of Family time, and one report says the bundle also worked as a Personal-to-Family conversion with 12 months of Personal equaling 9 months of Family.
Yes. Adding a payment card and enabling recurring billing can add 3 extra months, and one redemption ended up as a 15-month extension after the bonus months were applied.
Yes. Auto-renew should be turned off and the saved credit card removed after activation to avoid unwanted renewal charges, especially for NordVPN and Norton subscriptions.
Can existing single user subscription be converted to family using this offer? TIA
I stacked 5 years of personal then converted to family with a 12 month code just last month, so it was working as of a month ago. Anyone needing a solo slot valid through Dec 2030 for about seventy bucks feel free to PM me.

I am not optimistic that the days of $45 family bundles with vpn will be returning. I should have bought 10 codes in 2021.
Now that MS has us hooked on it, they've stopped subsidizing the service.
Just offload to local storage. I thought it would be a hassle but now I don't care how many photos and videos I have. I keep just enough recent in the cloud with free storage... Ask yourself do you really need all those files on demand? I found Microsoft photos to be dreadful and slow compared to Google. In fact Synology photos is faster than Microsoft, but nothing really beats the easy of Google
what is the best way to get One Drive storage only?
Stack the maximum personal, then convert with a family. Personal codes currently go for around $70 on sale at Newegg, Antonline and woot, $90 is a good deal for family. You'll pay about $440 for 5 years (and 3 months if you do it right) of 6Tb (albeit 6 x 1Tb, but I guess there is software to make managing them from one dashboard).
You can't buy OneDrive storage outside of M365, the alternative to the above is buying the basic M365 plan at $20/yr and adding on the max 1Tb of storage at $10/month, so $140 a year or $700 for 5 years of just 1Tb, you can probably see why stacking and converting like outlined above is the better deal.
to be clear the article goes on to say other VPN's do this too.. heck Norton can be pretty sneaky too you have to look carefully at the buttons you're clicking on to make sure you really cancelled the subscription .. basically if you decide to cancel double and triple check and make sure you see those words "your subscription has been cancelled" (in Norton's case for what it's worth they'll send you an email stating you successfully cancelled your subcription if you turn off auto renew).
Also if anyone buys the Norton product for pete's sake turn off auto renew AND remove your credit card info so they can't bill you again ! (there are horror stories about Norton charging gigantic auto-renewal amounts when the original subscription you bought through newegg or amazon or whatever expires)... I found it a bit suspicious that right after activating my norton product key the Norton website started to "flake out" on me and made it difficult for me to find the "billing" tab on it so I could click on the appropriate stuff to remove my credit card info despite turning off auto renew first like I was supposed to... could be that the Norton website was just having problems that day.. or was it? (strokes chin thoughtfully ) ... of course today when I go to my norton account it shows the "billing" tab without any problems ...
I must be doing something wrong with NordVPN as it seems to be highly rated. However, I tried to use it to spoof geolocation and it did not work, and I switched to VPN unlimited and I was able to spoof my location.

The bundle reportedly adds one year to both Microsoft 365 Family and NordVPN subscriptions after purchase.
NordVPN Basic reportedly works well for everyday use after redemption.
Microsoft activation reportedly can succeed and extend coverage by adding extra months through recurring billing.
Personal-to-family conversion reportedly works, with 12 months of Personal equaling about 9 months of Family.
Microsoft Family codes reportedly can fail redemption with a TokenNotInRedeemableState error.
Microsoft account activation reportedly can fail with StackBlockedDueToOrderPendingChangeRecord and setup errors.
NordVPN geolocation spoofing reportedly may not work as expected, requiring a different VPN service.
NordVPN and Microsoft bundle value can be undermined by renewal and auto-renewal cancellation friction on related services.
