Dave's Hot Chicken's free slider is a solid, spicy chicken sandwich deal, but the main draw is the free food rather than the experience around it. The slider is described as tasty and about the size of a KFC chicken sandwich, and the regular menu is pricey enough that the promo feels especially valuable. The catch is the redemption process and crowds, with long lines, slow app access, and a reward that may need email verification or time to appear. It also seems limited to participating locations and may only work in the app, making it a convenience-sensitive offer.
Common Questions (5)
The promo appears to be app-only this year and may not show in a web browser. The offer is found in the app's Rewards section, and some users needed iOS or Android app troubleshooting before it appeared.
Yes. The reward can require creating an account and verifying your email before it appears in Rewards. On some phones, killing and reopening the app after verification makes the offer show up.
Timing matters a lot: 11 a.m. to noon can be especially bad, while some locations are much lighter later in the day. Reported waits ranged from about 10 minutes to an out-the-door line, depending on location and staffing.
No, the free slider must be redeemed in person at the restaurant by scanning the reward. Ordering online or through the app can save time for regular orders, but the promo itself is tied to an in-store scan and may have a separate line.
No, it is only valid at participating locations. Some nearby stores may not accept it, so the offer may not work at every Dave's Hot Chicken.
