Bosch 300 dishwashers are praised for quiet operation, sturdy racks, capacitive controls, and generally solid cleaning, with some owners calling them long lasting. The deal math matters, though, since the listed price is really around $649 and installation and delivery can add about $200 unless free install and haul away are included. DIY installation is often described as manageable, but Bosch hookups can be awkward because the water and drain connections sit at the back right. The hybrid stainless tub also has a plastic bottom, and drying and app dependent features draw complaints, so this is best for buyers who value Bosch build and silence over convenience extras.

Common Questions (5)

  • If you are replacing an existing dishwasher, DIY installation can be straightforward and may take about 10 minutes to a couple of hours depending on plumbing and electrical access. The Bosch's drain and water connections are at the back-right, so front-plumbed setups can be harder, and some installs are better left to a pro if you are not handy.

  • Yes, newer Bosch models can hide some functions like delay start in the app, and the full feature set may require using the connected app. That can be inconvenient if you want all controls on the panel or do not want a connected appliance.

  • The base model is listed at $649, and the $1099 figure refers to a different slimmer version. At $589, this deal is only about $60 off the normal $649 price, not a huge discount.

  • No. The tub is a hybrid stainless design with a plastic bottom and stainless elsewhere, so it is not a fully stainless-steel tub.

  • Drying can be weak on this model, with items reportedly still wet after the cycle and even hours later. Some owners leave the door open overnight or towel-dry plastics and other wet items because there is no heating element.

I would get as much extended warranty as you can. These are easy to install. Until they're not.

If you paid with a credit card you always have a recourse.
Not true. Unless you have a premium credit card, most free credit cards don't have return policy.

Aside related to this deal, installing a dishwasher is about as easy as something that looks hard can be. It's not noticeably more difficult than installing a refrigerator with water connections assuming you are replacing an existing dishwasher.
not true. There are certain ways to make sure the drain doesn't back flow and it can get more complicated if you have food disposal. And the electrical is not straightforward. So unless you're handy and know some plumbing and electrical, better hire someone. I heard so many horrible stories of DIY people flooded their kitchen because bad installation, and costs thousands of dollars of repair.

Bosch are great dishwashers, however, lately almost all the new ones are forcing you to use the app to get the full features. So not great for seniors or people who don't prefer to get their appliances connected.

For those who are really considering getting a Bosch dishwasher. Not a day goes by without my mom wishing she'd kept her old dishwasher and just opting to get the front door enclosed/refinished instead. The build quality of interior racks and whatnot being flimsy and cheap, plus the capacitive control buttons is a chef's kiss. For context, she outfitted her whole kitchen with Bosch about 3 years ago now.
Agreed. I have this same model and it doesn't dry squat! Everything is wet when it's done and even after sitting for hours. Basically I have to wait until it finishes, open it and towel dry the really wet stuff and then leave the rest overnight with the door open to dry. It's nice that you can put dishwasher safe plastics in any rack (it doesn't have a heating element) but it's not worth the trouble of having to manually dry everything if you need to use it right away. I highly regret getting this one.

Agreed, the fact they hid delay start in the app made me go to a GE instead of this. Our previous Bosch had it right on the control panel.

Not even the return policy with the card. It has to do with a purchase dispute. They always side with the buyer first and request the merchant to fill out the dispute inquiry. If that is not completed in the 15-20 time frame (depending on the card company) summary judgement goes to the card holder and you'll normally get a statement credit. In years past many times the large companies wouldn't respond to the dispute requests or if they did with insufficient information.

I've got whichever version of this has the physical buttons. Fantastic dishwasher. Substantially better than anything Samsung makes, hands down.

Also I don't see why installation is a thing. It takes like ten minutes tops. Every single human in existence should be able to replace a dishwasher. You need a screwdriver and possibly two hands.

Be cautious from Home Depot and Lowe's on Major Appliance they only have a 48 Hour return policy .<br />
so if you get a lemon you're going to have to go through the warranty and for some reason they can't get the parts you may have to wait for months.
This happened to me on my replacement garage fridge. The non-cooling issue didn't show up until THE THIRD DAY SMH. Turns out, the fridge sat in a warehouse for lord knows how long and needed dust clear out and lube.

I got a Bosch500 for this price and thanks to renovation delays. It's past the return period and hope i don't end up with the same problem.

Sorry Lowe's. It was promised for Friday. I drove an hour to pick it up. I received multiple texts goading me to pick up my order and it was not there. Just the cable. What a colossal waste of time. Refunded. I'll wait for next deal.
BTW the bottom plate is plastic. Under any kind of sheathing, all dishwashers will have some plastic base. Stainless is not very Sturdy for mechanical attachments and such. I'm fine with it.

same here, we thought stainless was going out of style when we redid our kitchen in 2013.
Trends come and go but I don't think stainless steel appliances will ever be a bad choice for a kitchen.

I just bought an open box Bosch 300 today at Best Buy ($429 with an additional instore promo for $50 off if you took it home and didn't have it delivered, $20 promo reward certificate and paid for $250 with an amex offer for $50 off $250 and than the balance with a finished a second amex card that had started the same deal for another $50 off so net of $259 plus the tax on the $379) and the Drain and the water supply are at the very back and more to the right. They bottom is also solid so there is no space under the dishwasher for stuff lay (the side is open) . The Bosch also uses either a standard 3 prong power cord if you have an outlet it can go into or a Bosch junction box you have to use. (one end of the box has the power cord attachment for the dishwasher,no pigtail power) My previous dishwasher connected at the front so it really sucks since my lines have about a 8 foot run to the drain and water lines under the counters. I either have to cut off a couple of feet of cooper and try to bend old cooper tube or run flexible tubing under a counter I can't see or reach under.
