Bosch 300 dishwashers are praised for quiet operation, sturdy racks, capacitive controls, and generally solid cleaning, with some owners calling them long lasting. The deal math matters, though, since the listed price is really around $649 and installation and delivery can add about $200 unless free install and haul away are included. DIY installation is often described as manageable, but Bosch hookups can be awkward because the water and drain connections sit at the back right. The hybrid stainless tub also has a plastic bottom, and drying and app dependent features draw complaints, so this is best for buyers who value Bosch build and silence over convenience extras.

  • DIY installation can be manageable when replacing an existing dishwasher with basic tools.

  • The interior racks feel sturdy and the capacitive control buttons add a premium feel.

  • The dishwasher can offer strong drying performance only if you manage loading and expectations.

  • Costco delivery and haul-away can be low hassle when installers remove the old unit quickly.

  • The Hybrid Stainless tub is not fully stainless, with a plastic bottom instead.

  • Bosch installation can become complicated due to drain backflow, food disposal, and electrical wiring risks.

  • Return and pickup experiences can fail, including a promised pickup that arrived incomplete and required a refund.

  • Drying performance can be poor, leaving items wet and requiring manual towel drying and an overnight door-open cycle.

Just my 2 cents - there have been dishwashers in my home since I was 3 years old. We moved into a newly built house in 1952, and my dad, an engineer, loved gadgets. It was a Westinghouse, and it lasted 22 years, with one repair.
I had to replace my dishwasher a few years ago, and my brother strongly suggested a Bosch. One of those times I wish I had ignored his advice. Other than being quiet, it's the worst appliance I have ever had. It is hard to load, we had to take every removable part out to make space for a few extra bowls and cups. The short cycle is over an hour. I hate it, but it will probably last the rest of my life.

1099 on a 300 series?

Must be the tariffs eh?
Bosch makes appliances in the U.S. at its factories in New Bern, North Carolina, and LaFollette, Tennessee. These facilities produce many of Bosch's dishwashers, refrigerators, and cooking appliances, which are then sold in the North American market.

For discerning buyers who want a true European dishwasher, is there a brand sold in America and still made in Europe?

The item description of Bosch 300 PrecisionWash/Puredry, is STILL $1099. The link takes you to the lower model Bosch 300 which is normally $649 and is only $60 lower than normal at $589!

Glad to hear it does a good job cleaning, how has your experience been with drying? Just trying to decide if jumping up to the 500 w/ air dry is worth almost twice the cost. Thanks.
Not super wonderful but about as good as our 8yo old Maytag 8959, so it's about average. Rinse aid is a must, or so I hear. We always use it so we have no basis for comparison.A 500 or 800, while very nice, would have been more than double the price, and that's without factoring in the free installation, so no, not worth the extra $$.

Wait until you check out ... every other dishwasher made in the last fifteen years. They all take a long time. There's a point to the exercise: water and power.

Your 1950s ancient dishwasher used about five times as much water and about three times as much power for a load. At Sears you could buy a dishwasher for about $200 in 1950, which is $2600 today.

Tell me again about how awesome appliances used to be.

You can order a new outer shell for the door but it will be like $100
Do you know if they have a wide range of options? or are they made to accept a custom panel to match the rest of the appliances?

How is this dishwasher, it looks like a lot of 1-star reviews, but not that many total?

It's a 100 series that Lowe's is selling as a 300 series, but it doesn't have any of the 300 series features (stainless tub, etc) which would lead you to pick 300 over 100 series. People are understandably angry about that.

Didn't Lowe's recently have the Bosch 500 Series on sale for about this price?
Yes. I got a few months ago. Do slickdeal search on it. I think I paid $490. A few notes, new ones, plug into an outlet. Old one was hardwired. That was the only pain when installing. The 500 opens when it finishes cleaning to dry better. It works well. Dries better than old bosch. Feels cheaper than my old bosch. Utensil tray is half the size of old one. Has three racks but we really don't use upper rack that is pretty flat for utensils and kitchen tools. Much quieter than old one. Has light red led light at bottom to tell you it's running. I'd wait for 500 or better when they go on sale again unless you're in desperate need.

I paid $616 for the 500 series. That sale only lasted a few hours though.
