Breville Precision Brewer stands out for precise temperature control and strong brew quality, especially for full pots and larger batches. The brew temperature, bloom time, and flow rate get high marks, and the machine can automatically adjust for single cup or smaller volumes under 4 cups. It also runs well day after day, with hot coffee holding for several hours in the steel carafe version. The main drawbacks are the need to measure and refill carefully, leftover water in the basket, and a glass carafe that may not keep coffee as hot.

  • The brewer can automatically adjust settings for smaller volumes under four cups, helping produce tasting coffee with less water.

  • The thermo block and pump design can deliver similar full-pot quality to another thermo-block model while offering temperature control advantages.

  • The brew temperature, bloom time, and flow rate can perform extremely well during regular brewing.

  • Coffee can stay hot for several hours in the steel carafe version, which suggests good heat retention behavior.

  • The large flat basket filter holder can require a #4 cone adapter, and drip stop can leave leftover water in the basket.

  • Single-serve brewing can taste too cold when the reservoir water is cold, while room-temperature water may be needed for better results.

  • The removable water reservoir can require measuring and refilling daily, and overfilling can dilute the coffee.

  • The glass carafe version may not include a carafe warmer, and coffee heat retention could be worse than the steel carafe.

Yes but it's tricky: Because it is a large flat basket filter holder, it uses a #4 cone adapter . When the automatic drip stop activates after brewing, more than a little water is left in bottom of basket. You'd think pour 10oz of water in for a 10oz cup but you'd end up with just 7-8oz of coffee and have to dump basket out. Part of why I returned.
dang. i really want a machine like the Braun Multiserve but that also blooms the beans (and would be awesome if it heated water for tea like some of them do too haha).

Are you referring to this one [costco.com]?

I'm asking in earnest, other than price, why would you go with the Ninja? I have no need for the dual brew feature. If it's better for brewing coffee, I'd go with the Ninja.
Removable water reservoir and capability to brew 1/4 of carafe. If you buy this one you have to measure and refill water reservoir every day. If you put too much water you get diluted coffee. Plus Ninja is $50 cheaper at Costco warehouse.
