This Bosch bundle is a strong cordless miter saw deal when the promotion is live, pairing the 7 1 4 saw with batteries and a charger for about $179 to $200. The saw is praised as much lighter than a 10 inch cordless Bosch and easier to carry than a 12 inch DeWalt, which makes it appealing for cutting 2x4s and jobsite use. The main snag is availability, since the free tool often would not add to cart, showed as out of stock, or disappeared from the free item list. In store, the discount has scanned correctly and some locations have matched the lower battery price, making it a solid setup if you can still find stock.
The in-store checkout can apply the buy-one-get-one discount correctly when the free tool item number is listed on the promo sign.
The bundle can total about $200 in-store when the starter kit and miter saw are both included.
The deal can work for $179 for both items when the promotion is available during purchase.
The 7-1/4 Bosch miter saw can be easier to lug around than a heavier 10-inch cordless setup.
The free gift add-to-cart flow can throw an error, and Lowe's support can confirm the issue is system-wide.
The free miter saw option can disappear from the free-tool list or no longer appear as a free item even when the battery kit price remains discounted.
The miter saw can show as in stock online but still fail to add to the cart for pickup or delivery.
The promotion can be paused both online and in store, limiting the chance of getting the bundle later.

This is a new deal, according to the tools area manager. He was surprised to find this deal but I pointed out to him the buy 1 get 1 free promotion sign at the display area. I did not take a picture but specifically, it listed item #5280161 as one of the free tool. When they walked me to the register with the battery + tools, the cash register clerk at pro desk did a double take as he scanned my items as the manager told him this is a free tool and make sure the register take care of it if it does not show up. The computer applied the discount properly and the clerk said he's going to get one too and there were still 6 left in the store, even though my Lowes app showed just 1 left for some reason. I thought I got the last one in the store based on my Lowes app but I guess they have a different inventory level in store (this happened as well last time when I bought that Bosch cordless SDS-max drill on clearance for $200. My app showed 2 available when I head to the store and my Lowes app showed just 1 left when I arrived. The tool section clerk said they've been selling that in the past 24 hours and there were still a couple left in their inventory list. However, after I purchased the "last" one, my lowes app showed 0, out of stock even though there were still some left on the top shelf (where you need a ladder to fetch them). I suspect they only have a couple units for that "clearance" price and once they sell off enough inventory, they become out of stock on my lowes app, even though the store clerk's app shows otherwise.
Also, yesterday when I bought this miter saw in the morning, 1/2 of the Lowes in my area charges $219 for the starter kit, 1/2 charges $179. As of now, the two other stores that were selling at $219 yesterday lowered their prices to $179 as well. So this sale is not a glitch, just the store prices may vary initially but eventually catches up. Hopefully those who still want to purchase the miter saw can find one as I think the # of promotional items is limited.
Last year, I also bought Bosch under the buy 1 starter kit get a free tool promotion. I did not jump on it initially and had to wait until after Lowes restocked their tools.
At least in my area, the highest volume Bosch tool sale Lowes get better inventory so you might want to drive around, ask the clerk or manager if they know when their store will restock this miter saw.
