Nice reviews on this bunk bed.

Also Walmart's price is the slickest I found.

supports 6" mattresses? seems too thin to be very comfortable.

This was not designed by a parent. Dry erase marker is near impossible to get out of fabric, which it inevitably will get all over the bedding at the hands of a child.

this... is not meant for adults.

6" is fine for someone who weighs <100lbs.

For the frugal with a saw and drill. Perfect project for a beginner and stronger than anything mass produced. (We built 2)

You are way handier than me.
For me, I would end up with a pile of wood scraps if I am lucky. If unlucky a trip to the ER🤣

It's probably not that much cheaper. Probably stronger. I'd love to build one from these plans. At local Home Depot here are the prices of the lumber on the shopping list:4 - 2x4 @ 10 ft $7 each6 - 2x6 @ 10 ft $10 each4 - 2x2 @ 8 ft $3 each10 - 1x4 @ 8 ft $3.40 each100 - 2-1/2" long self tapping wood screws$15-2080 - 1-5/8" long self tapping wood screws $10-15Paint/stain $??Time $??So while it may be sturdier, it may not be much less expensive for the amount of work involved.
