Was available for similar price on Samsung's website a few months ago. Had additional stackable coupons bringing the price down further. I'd have expected a much lower price by now.
Going to paste a comment I left the last time I saw a deal on this TV.
"I have the s90 77. Died on me right at the 4 month mark. Having Samsung come and fix it soon. Apparently it's a pretty common issue. I think it's just with the 77s. Google "s90d 77 power supply" and you'll see the posts on reddit and members"
Just to add, Samsung ended up telling they didn't have any techs in my area. Gave me the option to have it picked up and refunded. Took about a month to finally get someone to message me about a pick up. I had decided to just get it fixed locally a week into waiting as I didn't want to wait longer for a pick up, and then for them to receive it to refund me. Tv looks amazing and all, but I can't say I'd recommend this tv. At least not the 77
Bought this TV from Costco in Spring 2024 for $2k including Allstate extended.
The picture is great, no complaints there. We have avoided allowing any system updates based on Reddit posts that indicated myriad issues. Annoyingly though, there doesn't seem to be a way to suppress the pop-up prompt to update--so we have to wait for it and decline every time we turn on the TV.
The biggest sticking point which I knew going in was that Plex app run on the TV can't relay Atmos audio...the workaround is to use an external device like a fire stick. Seems easy but in practice the extra remote and other complications haven't landed well with kids or spouse approval factor.
We were between this and the LG at time of purchase. Given the small issues we have and now knowing about the potential power/hardware issues on Samsung S90 mentioned in this thread--if I were buying now I would just go with one of the LG C5 deals.
