This pocket travel router is best at turning hotel, cruise, RV, and campsite internet into one shared network for all your devices. It handles captive portals well after firmware updates, supports OpenVPN and WireGuard, and can route everything through a VPN or Tailscale for home access. It also works as a repeater, access point, or extender, with USB C power and international plugs adding convenience. Main drawbacks are occasional speed drops, limited LAN ports, and some hotel or cruise networks blocking it. A compact pick for travel setups that need flexible networking.
The router can support OpenVPN or WireGuard for overseas travel while still enabling Chromecast streaming over LAN.
The router can simplify hotel captive-portal setups by improving captive login handling after firmware updates.
The router can help multiple family devices connect through one hotel sign-in when hotels limit per-room device counts.
The router can work well with Starlink and can also function as an extender for more reliable signal placement.
The router may not work for certain cruise-ship Wi-Fi sharing scenarios, including cases where it fails to connect as intended.
The router can show major home throughput drops, with speed reportedly falling to around 500 kb/s while another router worked normally.
The router can experience intermittent speed output drops that may require a restart to recover.
Some hotels may block or limit the setup, including cases where the router cannot connect at all even via the LAN port.

Would there be any benefit to buying another one and setting it up at a friend's house down the street in case the one at my house goes down?
If you travel a lot and spend as many nights in hotels as I do, I highly recommend it.
1. I used the internet gateway for a month and it pulled native data without TTL upgrade or adding an additional router in front of the gateway
2. Even if we use a router, that just helps with Native data vs hotspot data with TTL adjustment. Without the IMEI update, we still risk being flagged by Tmobile for using business sim in a internet gateway, unless you have tricks to update the gateway to mask IMEI.
That said, do you think investing in Flint 2 @ 114 is worth it?

"I purchased a USW Flex Mini for this exact reason.
You can run it off the Beryl's USB jack and it consume about 1W"
