The regular price seems to have been $160, I was watching it over the last 4 weeks or so.

It's the Anker 317 100watt charger, I'm not finding any info that it's a GaN type charger. Reading the reviews it appears to be a decent charger but gets hot. Checked mine one time at 126 degrees. Amazon has them in the $27 to $30 range just to give others a sense of value.

Backpacking camp... most likely, can't see taking plug in appliances.

Camp site camping... If I didn't have power at my site, think I rather a small quiet gas generator than this product with outlets. 288wh isn't much.

I've never used AC while camping. I'm not carrying anything that heavy in my backpack, even for short hikes. DC is more than good enough for the few things I might use.

DC only is better as long as you have the right gear for it. Power loss from AC inversion sucks for these portable batteries, essentially makes the capacity substantially less than it would be otherwise.

Who wants AC outlets limited to a total output of 300w?

There is an AC version. Not available at Costco. Runs anywhere between $189 - $209 on Amazon or Anker.
