Received email for Peacock TV price increase starting next bill cycle (November).

I am currently on Premium for $1.99/month 6-month promo which ends next month. When trying to cancel, I got a 6-month offer for $2.99/month which I accepted. Not good compared to current 6-month promotion but given price increase, new offer is decent.

I cancelled my $20 for 1 year premium plan which was set to expire in just under a month. Was offered a year for $40. I declined. I think I'm good with an antenna, and the non-subscription services like Freevee, Tubi, Plex, Roku Channel, Sling Freestream, Kanopy, Hoopla, ArteTV, Pluto, Fawesome, etc. I'm more tired of managing these subscriptions than I GAF about what programming is available to watch, honestly. The only subs I think I'll keep are Qwest and PBS Passport (which is going to have a price hike very soon).

This deal still works. I just renew to the 6 months. Only option was the plus.

Waiting for Plus deal. Can't stand commercials interrupting my programs. Wish they'd play all the commercials BEFORE the program with a little timer in top right corner so I can leave the room do whatever then return for a full uninterrupted program. That's the only way I'd buy Premium.

I just tried to cancel and received the same offer of 39.99 for 12 months. I already have a Premium account, which was set to expire at the end of November.

After getting the $20/yr deal for the past two years, I'm not even sure I'd pay $40 as some have reported. Other than Poker Face, there's little we've watched. My Premium Annual plan renews on 11/22 for $110 and nope, not doing that.

I have a 65" QD-OLED 5.2.4 Atmos home theater. I'm not watching stuff on my laptop to dodge commercials. The ad breaks allow me to check my phone or get something to drink. They're still less than linear TV.

A lot of people pay because of the strong sports lineup (Premier League, Tour de France, Olympics, etc.). If you're into sports, even Paramount+ can offer more value than Netflix. Everyone is different.

I went to cancel my current subscription and was offered a $50/year deal on the renewal. After paying $20/year for the past two years and seeing how others were getting a $40/year offer, I was a bit disappointed. But the family member who uses this subscription is a heavy Premier League watcher, so he was more than OK with it. Ultimately, it's a good value for him, and I am hoping to get another $11 off via my AmEx offer.

This is a pure speculation, but here are some guesses on how you can improve your chances of a better offer:
  • Don't be streaming anything while renewing.
  • Better yet, if you can, don't login into Peacock for a few weeks before you try to cancel.
  • My theory is that they target their offers based on your usage history. The more you watch it, the worse your deal would be. They may think that the more you are into it, the higher the chance you'll continue subscribing at higher prices. Scratchhead

Good reminder to check for Amex offer and use it. I resubscribed on their monthly $10.99 plan since I wanted to watch a couple shows. I'll get 2 months free before my Amex offer expires in Dec.

You seem very confused how that works... You still have a 65" QD-OLED 5.2.4 Atmos home threater if it's hooked up to your laptop. Nothing changes except you no longer have a slow smart tv OS to deal with and don't have to watch ads.
