Edit: Everything below is still accurate, but the same laptop with a 1TB SSD is on Lenovo right now for $45~ less. Link below. Downside is worse return policy compared to "through end of January in any walmart" and a much more expensive accidental damage/extended warranty if that is something you want. But if you are sure you want this laptop (and it's a great one) and don't want the increased warranty coverage, grab the

So obviously we just had this exact laptop for sale from Walmart Direct for $950, and if you have a time machine great, if you don't though I think at $1050 this is still basically the gaming laptop deal to beat at the 5060 level of the market. Incredible screen, good performance, great build quality, lightweigh (for a gaming laptop 4.3~lbs). And unlike the I7 for $1200 that has been promoted a good bit, this gets 6-7 hours of battery on web browsing, the I7 gets under 2. I know because I bought the I7 when it first came out. Loved everything, but the battery life was basically unusuable.
Other things to note, yes there is a second open SSD slot, and yes a second open DRAM slot, so you can add a 16 GB stick to go to 32 (and improve performance some) or replace both and go way way higher.
Sold by Antonline on Walmart FULFILLED BY WALMART which means it has the Walmart returns through end of January and returns to any store, so you can buy this and slow roll for a better deal.
Also the 3 year allstate warranty with drop and accident protection is $88, $98 for 4 years. Specs ripped from the $949 post.

This Legion 5 stands out as a strong gaming laptop for its 15.1 inch OLED WQXGA 165 hertz display, Ryzen 7 260, and RTX 5060 combo, with the screen drawing especially high praise for brightness, color, and overall eye candy. The build feels solid, and the AMD model is described as getting around 6 hours of battery life, while Walmart fulfillment and free returns through January 31 reduce the risk of buying now. The main knocks are the price jumping from $949 a few days earlier, the 16 gigabytes of RAM not being upgradeable, and the need to avoid an NVMe heatsink inside the system. A good fit if the display and return window matter most.
Common Questions (6)
Yes. It can be returned to any Walmart store through Jan. 31, which makes buying now lower-risk if a better sale appears later. That return window is a major reason this higher price is still considered worthwhile for shoppers who want the laptop immediately.
The AMD Ryzen 7 260 model is reported to get around 6 hours of battery life. That is much better than the i7 14700 version, which was reported at about 2 hours and described as effectively desktop-like when unplugged.
No, a heatsink-equipped NVMe reportedly does not fit inside the system. The safer option is to use a drive without a heatsink or remove the heatsink before installation, since the bottom cover can be difficult to close cleanly otherwise.
If you are not buying immediately, waiting can make sense because this same laptop was $949 just a few days earlier and more Lenovo sales are expected around BF/CM and weekend promos. If you need a gaming laptop today, though, this config is still described as one of the strongest options under roughly $1200.
Yes if display quality matters: the OLED panel is 100% DCI-P3, brighter, and has a 165Hz refresh rate, with users describing it as especially vivid and color-accurate. It also adds a larger battery and lighter weight versus the Micro Center IPS version, which helps justify the premium for many buyers.
It should run Battlefield 6 well, but not maxed out at WQXGA with very high frame rates. The RTX 5060 class is described as near the recommended range, while fully maxing BF6 at that resolution is said to be unrealistic even for much faster laptop GPUs.

Okay. Thanks. You can kindly go away now. I will never understand why you are so condescending to literally everyone who has the audacity to even mildly disagree with you, but dude there is a way to disagree with someone without being like this. I have never said or done anything to you except occasionally comment on build qualities and other related things on your posts.
But just to be clear, I am well aware of the differences both in use cases and need. And no, that isn't a creator laptop. It's pretending to be one, because with 16 GBs of ram that isn't upgradeable you aren't creating anything except disappointment as you spend a grand on a laptop that will struggle at even the most basic of creator tasks in 2025, never mind if you plan to use it for more than a year or two.. But then you know that because you are aware of laptops and specs right? And that whether it's a "creator laptop" or not, a bunch of people in those threads won't know the difference and but it because it has a dedicated GPU.
I've not always agreed with him either but he's more in the right on this one than you are. And I don't understand why people are upvoting something that is $100 more than it was literally days ago.
In all likelihood, the price will drop again by the end of the year. Yes, if someone really needs this, go buy it now. But for anyone who can wait even a few months, and get by with their current laptop, it would be absolutely better to wait.

Except he can't be "more right than me on this" because literally the very first thing I said was "this was available just a few days ago for a hundred less. But if you need a gaming laptop today this is the best thing under 12-1300 dollars" and also it has free returns in any Walmart through the end of January. So even if a better deal does popup in the next few months, you don't actually miss out on that better deal. This isn't a best buy laptop with a 14 day return period.
Which is what made it really weird that he started off by going "this was 950 2-3 days ago" as if I didn't literally say that first thing.
But the thing is, I'm 100% fine with him saying a deal is bad. That's not the issue at all. I don't think it is, because nothing under 12-1300 is better than this today and hasn't been in almost a week and counting, BUT it's completely fine to think and even post why you think a deal is bad. You just don't have to be rude when you do it. Like your response? Not rude, but I actually pointed out exactly what you are saying and agreeing with him on which is that yeah this is more expensive than it was a week ago. But I'm not aware of anything in this price range that competes with this laptop, and that definitely includes the $900 one that he referenced that is MC in store only with a 2 week return window.
Edit: Going to edit my OP, Lenovo just put this one on sale with a 1TB drive for 1005. Personally I would take this one over that one. $45/512 GBs is worth it to ME for returns through end of January, but that's a better deal if you are pretty sure you want this laptop.
