Went twice. I went in late Nov years ago. Celebrated thanksgiving there. Snowy and cold but it didn't stick. Went last year in early Oct. I thought it was gonna be fall like temps. NOPE! Felt like summer didn't end, mostly rain but It was still nice. I heard best time is cherry blossom festival but it can be pricy! Avoid summer because its hot. Nov was great though. I love the cold. Something to keep in mind. Some of the old castles you go will require you to take off your shoes. They don't have modern heating systems so expect cold floors. My toes were freezing.

Japan will definitely have you set-up if you just plan on wearing the new stuff you purchase. They got the right clothes for their seasons in stores. So you don't have much to worry about. Like dressing comfortably. Don't bring so much clothes because you will be shopping and eating!!! I didn't plan on shopping for myself but man they got great comfortable clothes. That's if you plan to wear the new stuff. I didn't because of the whole tax-free purchase. I just wore what I brought and wore all the new stuff this year. I hear the whole tax-free will change starting next year though.
Bring comfy shoes because you will be exploring a lot Something waterproof incase of rain. Light windbreaker will come in handy for those rainy days that gets humid and light to carry if it gets sunny again. That's If you plan on going end of summer beginning of fall. For the time I went in Nov I had a superdry jacket and hoody and ate lots of delicious ramen so that help me keep warm when it snowed up north towards the countryside. I only brought a light bomber jacket and north face windbreaker in oct. Only one day I use the bomber because it was windy but the rest of my 2 weeks there. I could've been in shorts and T-shirt.
You will be shopping I promise you that!

Zipair is great, I don't mind paying for what I just need and paying for extras that I don't really care about. I would definitely fly with them again.

On the wifi, I think they lock down access to everything except their online ordering page. I couldn't get the wifi working for anything else except for ordering items off their menu. I wasn't able to stream any movies or browse any websites with it.

I went last week of Nov/first week of Dec last year and weather was great. Sunny cool days and fall foliage was gorgeous.

Going again next week, my tummy is ready for cheap delicious ramen!

Went in early June and it was hot (no worse than Europe or Florida), but it had beautiful flowers blooming everywhere.

pretty good deal. close to the 2022-early 2023 prices before Japan travel skyrocketed. for those never flown zipair, the quality of service from the Japanese flight attendants were great. for a discount airline, they are on par if not better than some of the full service legacy american airlines. yes, low cost airline so you will get nickled and dimed. you get a slight discount if you reserve your add ons online. you also get some discounts if you join their membership club. this is useful if youre flying with a few ppl and need extra checked bags as you can break even on the membership fee with 2 checked bags.

for those asking for best time to visit japan, its all the time really if you want to experience different things. Personally, I would do cherry blossom season or fall. Fall for less crowds. Lots of tourists come to the golden triangle for Cherry blossoms at the end of march to beginning of april. Cherry blossoms do not bloom at the same time, so you can come a week later and visit a different city not in the golden triangle to get later blooms. Of course this advice is not applicable for this deal. For this deal, Feb is the way to go. Feb is down season is japan so good if you want less crowds.

June is considered the rainy season. Not too hot, yet, and less domestic travelers because most of them shot their shot during the Golden Week a month before. From July, it starts getting miserably hot, unless you're visiting Hokkaido.

ZipAir is good stuff as far as budget airlines go; it's what Spirit should have been for America. Just make sure you bring your own water, meals, and entertainment before the flight and you're good to go. While every thing will cost you extra, the always impressive Japanese service and courtesy is still included for free.

In today's Japan, the full-blown summer kicks in at the beginning of June and continues through the end of September. The rainy season which some years ago lasted more than a month has now become as short as 10 days long with the full summer heat assaulting in-between rain showers.

5000Y membership fee is about $33. Check bag is $85 from US airports, except Honolulu, minus 30% off for membership. You looking at $60 check bag instead of $85. It's worth the fee if you check bag both ways or fly several times a year to Japan.

GREAT f'n deal but remember folks you pay for every little amenity. Food, bottled water, leg space, and possibly oxygen (LOL just kidding about the last one).
Flew on Zipair once, only issue was I got thirsty towards the end of the flight, and they wouldn't sell me a bottle of water (or any other drink). So bring your own, or order it in advance.
