When I bought the 2022 version, Samsung representatives claimed it would get 5 years of security updates. Wrong! Such support only lasted 3 years. The 2022 version got its last security update several months ago.
So how long will Samsung provide security updates for this 2024 version? Or is it already unsupported?

not just the pen thing. ipads got no expandable storage and the base storage on ipads are ass.
either way, this price doesn't even look good according to the price history. it's been on sale for 200 or so like every other month for a year

This Tablet uses Samsung's Exynos 1280. To put this in perspective, Notebookcheck states this CPU is 6% faster than a G99. The G99 CPU is the SLOWEST CPU I would use today, at 6% faster I consider them almost equal (usually there is a 30% jump with each gen).
And the CHEAPEST tabelt I know that has a G99 sells for $90.00 (no pen)... AMazon.. Lincplus T3. And this has twice the hardrive and 50% more RAM, ZERO bloatware and ZERO installed apps. So I would think the Lincplus T3 would run faster in the real world. Samsung tablets have over 90 preinstalled apps.
When on sale the Google Pixel Tablet for $250 is so much more worth it. I just feel this tablet is too slow for $210.00 in todays market.
Last year bought it with $170, this year it's $220 and still considering it is a slick deal. 😂
it is called Trump Tariffs. All the tablets that I purchased before Trump have gone up in price.
The Alldocube Iplay 60 mini turbo... I purchased it for $130 about 1.5 years ago not the cheapsest you can find it is like $180??? and Amazon sells it for $210!!!! The worst thing is technically there are NO duty or Tarriffs for this item so why did the price go up so much.... Even though the tariff exemption technically applies, wholesale prices and retail mark-ups stayed elevated due to supply-chain uncertainty and weaker U.S.–China logistics.

WOW... when I try to find the info online it is very confusing.
But it is suppose to get 4 OS updates and 5 years of security... starting in 2024 and I believe it came out with Android 14.

You are thinking of ipads of yester year. The cheapest I can find a ipad is $279.. it has the A16 CPU (VERY STRONG) and has 128GB hard drive. Also apps are smaller and less RAM is needed.
Really, an Ipad is AMAZING and the best product out there for the price... with out a doubt. BUT there are reasons why I will never buy one....
Much better addblockers on Android, such as Ublock Origin. This reason alone, to me... is enough to never buy a ipad.
Android does not block any sites or limits you such as apple does. And I don't care if the sites are not ethical.
Android is easy to side load apps. you can sideload apps on an iPad, but it is not officially supported and requires third-party tools and workarounds, which is different from the open sideloading process on Android.
Sure the ipad is a GREAT DEAL but everything else apple is not and don't want to get hooked on their expensive eco system.
other reasons buy not for me...
apple store is more expensive then the play store.
more powerful games available on android. Nitendo switch runs on a Android OS.
Reasons to buy a ipad...
You are a straight arrow who would never stream unethical so you don't have to worry about popups etc... You also pay for everything that many people do not pay for such as streaming. I personally cut off my netflix and Disney cause I am able to stream all their shows so easily. And you obviously have a higher paid job so you can afford the extras.

Completely opposite opinion here. I did make a jump to iPad mini (being super frustrated by systematic uber-crappiness of 8" android tablets) and - while hardware is top notch - I found iOS maddening enough to get myself Lenovo Legion (which has its own drawbacks but at least it feels more usable to me).

Really, an Ipad is AMAZING and the best product out there for the price... with out a doubt. BUT there are reasons why I will never buy one....
