I always wonder about these sites. You hear it's sort of a grey market, but then why doesn't Microsoft shut it down? Should be easyish to make keys region specific. <br />

But then you hear sometimes the registered os gets shut down after a few months, even though they let you use the key. <br />

My question is if you replace a Windows 11 OEM key with a Pro version and MS later disables your Pro version can you go back to your old OEM key (which I'm told is permanently stored in the BIOS and you have to use the License Troubleshooter app to fix)?
Considering you could never go back from Windows 10 Pro to Home, does Windows 11 also block downgrades meaning you would be forced to reinstall Home from scratch? If yes, then I'll probably not risk it. The other PC is just 30 feet away but sometimes I'd rather not get up and walk.
I have no need for windows if trading software and tax software are available in Linux. Make sure you have a backup image file of Linux in case Windows modify the partition.

My guess is large companies fall under "the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing" so marketing probably does the ad buys without the enforcement group knowing.<br />

Good deals on keys usually are. So far I haven't bought any gray market keys, but at this price it's tempting to replace a Windows 11 Home OEM with a Pro version solely so I can do remote desktop into that PC. I've found MS' remote desktop is so much better than any of the other "free" ones. Teamviewer will declare your occasional use as "business" and cut you off. Other ones are slow at fades or leave graphics trails on the screen.<br />
