Bambu Lab's sale stands out as a strong entry point for easy, reliable printing, especially the P1S at $399 and the A1 or A1 Mini for beginners. The ecosystem, app printing, and MakerWorld integration make setup and model access feel simple, and the printers are praised for skipping bed leveling and tuning while delivering consistent first layers. The P1S gets extra credit for enclosure support and dependable long runs, while the A1 series is favored for easier nozzle changes and flow calibration. Main caveats are AMS pricing and packaging, since the combo often includes the first generation unit, some accessories ship separately, and multicolor printing adds waste and time.

Common Questions (5)

  • The AMS 2 Pro adds filament drying, which is useful if you want dry spools ready to print or already planned to buy a separate dryer. The regular AMS still handles multi-color printing and can be kept dry with desiccant, so the upgrade is most compelling if drying convenience matters to you.

  • Yes. It is described as a very easy, turnkey printer that removes bed leveling and tuning, and it is especially appealing if you want a reliable machine for PLA, PETG, and TPU without much tinkering. The enclosure also makes it the better pick if you may later print hotter materials like ABS.

  • Get the A1 if you can afford the extra cost and space, because the larger build plate lets you print more parts and avoids running into size limits later. The A1 Mini is still praised as an easy, fun starter printer, but several comments note regretting not buying the larger A1.

  • Yes. The A-series can now use the regular AMS with Bambu's newer connection update, and the P1S can also run AMS setups normally. For the A1, the needed adapter/dongle is mentioned as a small extra purchase.

  • The P1S Combo includes the first-generation AMS, not the newer AMS 2 Pro. If you want the AMS 2 Pro, you need the separate P1S AMS 2 Pro bundle or to buy the upgrade path.

lol ! Also I have AMS and I know what kind of mess it is. But hard for bambu fan club to understand.
Mine has worked great hundreds of prints later with a p1s combo. Maybe you got a dud

Calm down Chad, unlike you many people care about amount of waste they generate.
If they really truly cared about the waste they would be printing multi color models that end up collecting dust or going in the land fill

Thanks man, I appreciate you taking the time. If the price was indeed $799 and coming relatively soon, I could wait. Just in a small dilemma to purchase this deal or wait. Just don't wanna go past $799 for a first printer.
Honestly for your first printer the P1S would be more than fine. I got a P1P when it was first release before there was even a P1S yet and it STILL is printing flawlessly. Then i got the P1S and an A1, now the H2D. I will prob get a P2S when its released because I've built a small print farm for myself and my side hustle. If you arent sure about what kinda time you'd want to invest in the hobby and will stick mainly to the easy to print materials (pla, petg, tpu...etc) theres really no reason to spend more money on the new and shiny without knowing if this is something youll keep up with. Resale will be better on a P2S if you decided its not for you. Essentially here is some difference

1. Touch Screen (if you operate from your computer near by, this isnt really needed and you can always use the smart phone app)
2. A new way of recirculation the hot air inside the machine for higher temp materials (if you dont have your machine properly ventilated, your not gonna wana pursue those high temp (ABS/ASA..etc) materials cuz they give off toxic VOCs
3. Filament cutters moved to give use of ENTIRE bed plate (this is nice, but again we're talking a few mm of added build place and the A1 you can already use the entire bed)
4. Filament Buffer has 2 inputs instead of one (you can always get a Hub if you decide to go above 1 AMS unit so this is not that special)
5. New Hotend System from H2 series (This is your biggest upgrade, quick swap nozzle..etc but to a new user you probably wouldnt "feel" the difference)
6. AI Detection feature (this is nice if it performs correctly but again, not nessacary)
7. Improved Camera (set up your own camera solves the low latency of the P1S camera)

There might be a thing or two im leaving out of not really big impact but in quick write up laymens terms this is the difference. Oh and end of life of the printers support it obviously be later. I think its like 5 years from printers release. If you are unsure of the hobby, save the money cuz you prob wont get through enough filament to run in to any issues either way but if you do enjoy it, well you'll prob end up getting a 2nd printer anyway.

This really goes for anyone not sure of what to do. If you arent sure about how much you'll invest time wise in the hobby, save the money and dip your toe. Bambu does these BF sales every year with a couple of other sales in between so you can always pick something up then if you decide you like it.

Can you please suggest Bambu or Creality from Costco. This is for my 10 year old.

One advantage with Costco is a generous return policy

I didn't know Costco sells Bambu lab printers. I would go with the A1 for your kid. It's easy to use. If you have the extra $100 then get the A1 combo. It lets him do multi color printing.BTW. Best Buy also has it on sale now if you have one near by.

Bambu. Hold value longer, a bit easier to deal with customer support wise and a WAY better select and print integration with makerworld through the app. I was a creality guy when i started printing years ago and once i got my first bambu sold all my creality machines and went bambu. This is also going with the assumption that he wont be trying the tinker and mod the machine heavily with like third party addons.

I absolutely appreciate you taking the time to give me a rundown. I ended up just going with the P1S/AMS 2 combo with buffer. Also bought the hardened steel nozzle too. If the PS2 combo was guaranteed to be $799 I probably would have waited. But I ended going through many of the points you made and felt like I couldn't go wrong either way. If I decide I really enjoy it(which I think I will), I would probably end up buying a 2nd one anyway. You said you use your own camera. Any suggestions what to get if I wanted to do that as well? Once again I really appreciate you taking the time to do answer me with very valid points.

Anyone see a reason or way to use their 45% off 18 rolls of filament to combine with buying a printer with filament? It appears the filament is already heavily discounted if buying with a printer...

Just picked up an A1 mini from Best Buy as I had a $10 credit. Took about an hour to fully setup and complete calibration. Already printing an Eiffel Tower for my daughter. This thing is awesome

You can't go wrong with that choice! Any cheap security cam these days should work. Theres a whole handful of them out there on amazon and what not....I've used a Wyze cam I had to monitor a printer before. You could always hit makerworld.com and look for a premade model to help you decide if you dont have the skill to make one. That way you know when you buy it you already have a mounting solution for it.
