Bambu Lab's sale stands out as a strong entry point for easy, reliable printing, especially the P1S at $399 and the A1 or A1 Mini for beginners. The ecosystem, app printing, and MakerWorld integration make setup and model access feel simple, and the printers are praised for skipping bed leveling and tuning while delivering consistent first layers. The P1S gets extra credit for enclosure support and dependable long runs, while the A1 series is favored for easier nozzle changes and flow calibration. Main caveats are AMS pricing and packaging, since the combo often includes the first generation unit, some accessories ship separately, and multicolor printing adds waste and time.

Common Questions (5)

  • The AMS 2 Pro adds filament drying, which is useful if you want dry spools ready to print or already planned to buy a separate dryer. The regular AMS still handles multi-color printing and can be kept dry with desiccant, so the upgrade is most compelling if drying convenience matters to you.

  • Yes. It is described as a very easy, turnkey printer that removes bed leveling and tuning, and it is especially appealing if you want a reliable machine for PLA, PETG, and TPU without much tinkering. The enclosure also makes it the better pick if you may later print hotter materials like ABS.

  • Get the A1 if you can afford the extra cost and space, because the larger build plate lets you print more parts and avoids running into size limits later. The A1 Mini is still praised as an easy, fun starter printer, but several comments note regretting not buying the larger A1.

  • Yes. The A-series can now use the regular AMS with Bambu's newer connection update, and the P1S can also run AMS setups normally. For the A1, the needed adapter/dongle is mentioned as a small extra purchase.

  • The P1S Combo includes the first-generation AMS, not the newer AMS 2 Pro. If you want the AMS 2 Pro, you need the separate P1S AMS 2 Pro bundle or to buy the upgrade path.

Yeah, that kind of really bugs me. I just looked at the bambu website and selected Canada in the top left. The PS2 in indeed available there and is $1049.00 CAD which is $752.62 USD. If it was available here I would have gotten that instead. I'm already having buyers remorse since I just dropped $1000 and have some work ahead of me in upgrading the P1S with hardened nozzles and hardened extruder when the P2S already has that all installed plus more. Is Bambu using the US market to unload all of their old inventory while spoiling the rest of the worlds markets with the new inventory?

that was fast, I ordered yesterday, and the P1S and AMS 2 are here today, but accessories are not shipped yet.
Did they ship your ams2 with the unit or separate box. I got my P1S but no other box yet.

A1 . If you have the extra money then get the A1 Combo if you want to do multi colors.

After much research I agree. The only thing that the P1S has over the A1 is the better AMS and an enclosure. The A1 has better everything else.

I bought the P1S combo with AMS for $549 yesterday. I see the one with AMS2 Pro on sale for $619 today. Should I buy this one and return the first order once I get it? Is it worth the hassle?

I think you might be sorry that you didn't get the A1 instead of the Mini. I know I was. The extra bed size lets you print many more things for only $80 more.

learn from my mistake

It's also easier to sell the A1 if you decide to in the future
Completely agree. I sold my Mini last week in preparation for this deal. Got the A1 Combo

I've only done two 3D prints by having the folks at our library do them. I've had maybe one situation where I was "if only I had a 3D printer, the kingdom would be saved!" So I'm a rank beginner, less than beginner. The A1 mini capability and price ($200!) are extremely attractive, maybe as a Christmas present to myself, just as a quality entry-level, noob-friendly 3D printer to play with for fun, see if I like it, can have fun with it, or if it just collects dust.
The bigger question is whether I'm really missing out by not getting the combo with AMS lite, while the sale is on, or no, you really can have 80% of the fun and exploration with just the mini, and sales will happen on the AMS lite later (maybe next year) anyway. Thanks in advance!
Your call but with Bambu slicer most recent update the A series can use the regular AMS units now (you just have to purchase a dongle from Bambu its 20 bucks) I don't see the AMS Lites sticking around and you will prolly be able to pick one up even cheaper if you wait in my opinion although hey I could be wrong!

I cannot stress how much I LOVE my A1 mini and it gets used more than any of my other printers and I'd say at this point near everything I make gets put to the mini for work. HOWEVER I just made a 5u 10 inch server rack (labrax) and I would have never been able to print all the parts out on my mini, they are just to large! so Its easy for me to say "get the mini hands down!" because I have larger other printers. If you can stomach the extra 80 dollars I would get the full size A1 and if not at not point do I think you'll be sad you have the A1mini I think you'll eventually just end up a 2nd larger printer haha.

I signed up before the sale started and received the coupon. The option to get the coupon hasn't been available since the sale started, i.e from 10/28.

I think the $70 extra for the AMS 2 Pro is worth it.
