The Costco deal is $55 more but includes an extra controller so basically the same when it comes to overall deal.

Unsure why this is getting downvoted as it matches the pricing frorm yesterday's +124 Frontpage deal. It only takes an extra minute or two to sign up for a free IGN account.
https://slickdeals.net/f/18722797

edit: now that the NBA2K26 game is included for free, I'd rank this "IGN" deal better than the Costco deal.

That's an interesting way of viewing it but seems to leave out a key consideration... Technology prices generally come down over time. Without a doubt, most of the components needed to build a PS5 are cheaper today than they were in 2020

Less than 10% off of launch MSRP is a deal... Sony has already bragged multiple times about how much profit they're making this console generation. Greed is ruining everything

The PS5 Slim bundle is being framed as a solid value, especially the 1TB disc version with NBA 2K26 included. The price is seen as competitive versus recent inflation and other retailers, and the bundle can land under $400 after reselling the game. The disc bundle also gets the nod over the 825GB digital model because of the extra storage and drive. The main drawback is PlayStation Direct checkout trouble, with repeated transaction errors and promo code issues. A good fit if you want the disc model and can get the site to cooperate.

  • The CFI-2000 2K26 bundle model is described as having extra storage and an additional game.

  • The 825GB digital price is framed as a fairly decent deal versus inflation-adjusted launch pricing.

  • The 1TB disc bundle can work out under $400 after selling NBA 2K26.

    CornPopThuggzMatta

  • The 2K26 bundle can be cheaper than buying a controller separately.

    Golgatha

  • Checkout can show a transaction error that directs buyers to retail partners.

    NavyGame2439NavyGame2439

  • Trade-in vouchers may be restricted to playstationdirect.com and may not combine with promo codes.

    SensibleSnake3834nshah

  • PlayStation Direct ordering can fail due to backend limitations and lack of direct support contact.

    GreyOstrich3026

  • Klarna and discount steps can trigger repeated checkout errors and conflicting guidance from support.

The non bundle disc is the PS5 CFI-2100 model, while the 2K26 bundle is the CFI-2000 model. From what I'm reading online, the CFI-2000 is the better model
I think the 2100 is the digital model with the smaller storage space but not sure.

Thanks for the info!

You are correct. 2100 is newer model, less storage(back to 825Gb) however if you look on YouTube it has a couple benefits over the 2000. It runs marginally cooler (3-5 Celsius) and is a couple decibels quieter. More noticeable, the black finish is now matte not glossy. Forget which YouTuber highlighted this but where the ports are in the front are less likely to show scratches when not plugged in directly (think like when your keys miss the lock) not life changing at all but if you're particular as I am the scratches would annoy me, but that's just me being picky and I prefer matte, less fingerprints too. At the end of the day you may not notice this at all or care but I like these small details. The 2000 bundle is better for most though I'd imagine, 175Gb more plus another additional game.

PlayStation direct is such a broken POS.
So many people can't even order from the site because of whatever backend software limitations.
There is no way to get in touch with them to fix the issue.
This deal is basically useless to me and many others.
Exactly why I'm going through Costco. Tried multiple cards, devices, browsers even tried purchasing through the klarna promo code promotion before this one. Every single time had errors with the website. Or the order would look like it was going through then give error messages. Called PlayStation support and they flat out admit you have to go the website(told me that they don't have a number for direct? lol), website tells you klarna is the issue or that they can't verify identity(weird when I'm trying to purchase under multiple methods to give YOU money) then the two times I tried using Klarna they say PlayStation is the issue and give me the same useless 1-800 number for PlayStation support not PS Direct. Not even a live chat or someone who could try and push my order through on the PS Direct side… Congrats to the ones who didn't have to spend a couple of hours having to create a IGN and a PS Direct account for the exclusive holiday spam DLC…. Anyways salty negative rant and first world problems aside PlayStation direct is a joke.
