I wonder if this would work as a replacement for my 1x11 GRX drivetrain. My GRX rear derailleur was damaged.

This is a component that shouldn't exist in the SRAM lineup. The quality is on par with Walmart bikes. So much plastic and poor tolerances. Better buy 3 if you want to make it through the season!

It won't. The SX is 12 speed. Your shifting ratios wont match the rest of your x11 setup.

The NX shifter is also on sale: https://www.jensonusa.com/sram-nx...e-packaged

They have some 1230 cassettes on sale, too, such as: https://www.jensonusa.com/sram-nx...e-packaged

I was looking at these earlier this week but was put off by the poor reviews for SRAM NX and SX. By the time you piece together a groupset the cost will exceed going with a better reviewed Deore drivetrain. Good deal if you happen to need to replace a component, though.

I heard people complain about the sx derailer - it came stock in my stumpy but i had no issues. I did upgrade it to a xx1 and to be honest no noticeable improvement. The best bang is to get a x01 , xx1 shifter as they have a bearing and feel better . If you on a budget and as long as your derailer hanger is straight, the sx will shift fine
