Also worth noting, the SSD listed here, PCIe Gen4 Performance TLC Opal, is a $400+ 2TB drive on its own.
If you believe this prebuilt can be outdone for less, I'd genuinely like to see a parts list with everything still in stock. Otherwise, your take comes across as the typical anti-prebuilt stance. It's time to accept that prebuilts occasionally do beat DIY builds on price, even if DIY still tends to win on component quality.
Community Reviews
Lenovo's Legion Tower 7i Gen 10 is a high end RTX 5090 prebuilt that lands around the parts cost, with the GPU doing most of the heavy lifting and the 2TB PCIe Gen4 TLC Opal SSD, 64GB DDR5, 1200W power supply, and Windows 11 Pro adding real value. The $3399 coupon price and free shipping are viewed as strong for a 5090 system, especially versus nearby Micro Center prebuilts and open box options. The main knocks are that the Core Ultra 9 285K and memory are seen as weaker for gaming than a Ryzen X3D setup, and the deal thread had some header and link confusion. A solid option if you want a ready built 5090 tower without chasing parts.
Common Questions (4)
The current coupon price is $3399 with free shipping, and that lands in the same range as other 5090 prebuilts like refurb/open-box Micro Center systems. It is a solid price for a 5090 tower, but not a once-in-a-lifetime bargain; several comments peg it as fair value rather than a "crazy" deal.
A comparable DIY build can be cheaper in some cases, but the prebuilt is still priced close to parts cost once you account for the RTX 5090, Core Ultra 9 285K, 64GB RAM, 2TB Gen4 TLC SSD, Windows 11 Pro, and the 1200W PSU. The main argument for the deal is that the GPU alone makes up most of the price, so matching it with in-stock parts is not easy.
It includes a 1-year mail-in warranty, and Lenovo also offers a 3-year warranty add-on for $99. That longer coverage was enough to push one buyer toward the prebuilt route after years of trouble-free use with a prior Legion tower.
Yes, the coupon can be denied. A practical workaround is to find the same code directly on Lenovo's site first, since that usually makes it apply normally.

there aren't any. you need to spend more money. i don't know if i'm not getting through or something, but this computer is a crippled pile of trash. you are getting the illusion of a good computer that sucking down 800W+ while horribly under performing.
if you want a 5090 gaming PC, you need to spend about 4k. otherwise you are flushing money down the toilet just to feel like you are getting something good, at least until you start playing demanding games and realize you're around 20FPS below where you should be. or like 150 FPS slower (not a typo) if you're playing competitive shooters on a fast monitor.
Now you're saying you should be spending $4K. You keep moving the goal post.
Lenovo said the floor for this computer is $3398 and that it wasnt possible in their computer to go lower than that.
Ugh there's like no media on this desktop. I from what I saw the one from 2 years ago had some really bare looking ram. But the cooling looks good compared to the omen. The omen build quality is fantastic tho. Ive had 2 of those, gonna be my first legion besides a mid size 1660s one I bought from costco 5 years ago and returned for the Omen. At that point the build quality seemed good too however so I imagine (hope) they only improved especially with HP being so gamer focused.
