The prices of this still seems too high. Not the dollar amount (I get it's a deal, regardless), just the fact this is a 5 year old console, old aging hardware, Sony's lackluster exclusivity this generation, etc.

The combined effect of tariffs and inflation do not make things cheaper unfortunately.

I think there's fewer cost saving optimizations that can be made over 5 years now compared to the old days. Computer hardware has had decades of optimizations and there's less low hanging fruit now to drive down manufacturing costs during the generation.

Nintendo Switch 1 is still at the same price as when it was at release, and that hardware's specs cannot justify that price. With the exception of BF, the days of console makers competing on price are through.
