He's not right on everything but boy he's pretty damn close. Everyone should watch his free to choose series from 1980's free on youtube. Fast forward 45 years and it's amazing how much he's predicted.

This is also isn't true. He didn't support it, he said that it was an economic negative for Britain. He also warned about the looming disaster of central planning, which played out as he predicted. If you ignore BJP propaganda, he's actually very positive on India and its capacities in the India papers.

Is this the same guy with his unfounded bs theory that got us into this neoliberal tech feudal mess? No, thank you
This other noble laureate in economics has a few things to say about the Friedman guy. He uses nice words but I think the generosity is unnecessary:

I may be wrong but I understand he provided the blueprint and justification rather than predicting! <br />
Dude served Reagan! I could be wrong but my impression is that his reign was the beginning of the end for America the great.

I think you might be confused about the book and series. He was warning about the growing pattern of choices being removed from us in a paternal manner, not prescribing it. Whatever his flaws, he was broadly right on those counts. One of his fine points was that a democracy of false choices is just feudalism with another name.

Racist. Says he's against slavery on its face, but turns around to support colonialism of India.

It's an interesting read, but if you compare US outcomes to outcomes in even more heavily regulated European and Nordic countries, the argument really falls on it's face.

The show was on prime video for free. Not sure if it still is.

Well presented with respectful rebuttals and debate at the end. Real conversations by people who've actually read a book before...none of this modern "xxx OWNS yyy!!!" stuff.

Don't know about Prime but it's watchable here:

And yes, the older style is far more enjoyable than the modern day clickbait & ragebait (that also tends to extend what should be a 2-3 minute topic into 20 minutes, complete with sponsored messages for VPN services)
