This seems to be a great deal. About to pull the trigger. Am I missing something?

Ordered, received shipping confirmation and tracking number, and shipment weight matches manufacturer specs. So far so good.

I bought this recently and it's going back. The overall sound and especially the tiny subwoofer are disappointing.

It's meant to be a mid-range offering with an emphasis on having a relatively small footprint while still offering Atmos features. There are definitely better choices for sound quality and stage if you don't have physical space restrictions. But if you're specifically looking for a setup with no satellites while still having a dedicated sub, this is a very strong contender at this price point.

Have you actually purchased this specific system and used it your home?

I completely understand the limitations of this soundbar/sub especially at this price point. I researched a ton and read at all the reviews like rtings, youtube, etc. Listened to every top selling soundbar system with a sub in person at all the price points at my local stores.

I went with the Samsung Q800F because I found a slightly damaged box that was brand new for only $500. Even at only $500 or this $599 sales price, it's still disappointing to me. At the regular MSRP of $799 it's a complete joke. I have a an older JBL 3.1 soundbar and 10" sub that produces far better results. Especially the JBL 10" sub. The Samsung 6.5" subwoofer is simply just too small and weak for a decent bass response.

I have the older model (Q800B), which has a larger ported sub rather than the compact sub on the Q800F. Granted, it's setup in a rectangular 12'x16'x8' space, which is not very large to begin with, and I generally keep to modest volumes, so I don't require much from the sub. I'm impressed enough by the auto-calibration and execution of Atmos that I'm happy to jump on the newer model for under $500 and see how it compares in small to medium spaces. I don't disagree with your assessment, I think it'll come down to which features you prioritize to determine if this is a good choice.
