Nevermind, that is an old deal.
Here's what I'd recommend this time around:
- If you do this deal and don't get the gift card, put in the request with Costco. If they deny or send you to Groupon or otherwise never honor it, go in the last month of your membership and ask for your membership to be refunded. When asked the reason, state that you aren't satisfied that they never provided the advertised signup promotion and after you followed up, they weren't able to rectify it before your membership expired. Since they offer a full satisfaction guarantee, you are requesting a refund as you aren't satisfied with how they handled the promotion and lack of fulfillment.
