No, not to my knowledge.

The advantage of Southwest RR Points is that you can book flights with points and cancel the flight right up to day of travel ---- with no consequence (the Points are returned to your Points account). This is sort of necessary now that Southwest has put a 'time expiration' on monetary funds credits. If you cancel a flight you booked by paying with money, the monetary credit will now expire (either 6 months or a year from original booking date depending on the type of fare you choose). That's not good.

Also, the Priority Card lets you squat a seat at time of booking for any fare type -- which is something that you will desire from late Jan 2026 onward with Southwest's new booking rules. That is my understanding of the new system taking effect in late January 2026. But Priority Card has the highest annual fee too. To me, it is either Plus (cheaper) or Priority (better benefits but costs more) -- and not Premier (which is like being in no mans land).

Most favorable approach is to get the card now......and delay completing your spending until early Jan 2026 to mid Jan 2026, so that your bonus points 'hit' your account in 2026. Then keep earning and try to achieve a companion pass in 2026 -- after you earn more points throughout the rest of 2026. Other people who are near companion pass qualification in 2025 might want to try to spend quickly to get their 85,000 bonus points in 2025 so to complete the qualification and get the companion pass in 2025.

Annual fees have definitely jumped higher than before. But you still get the 'free checked bag' benefit and the higher end card allows you to reserve a seat at the time of booking no matter what fare is booked (which is better than the 48 hours prior to departure rule).

And an 85k points sign on bonus for only $3,000 initial spend in the first three months is pretty decent.
