I bought this kit, unfortunately not on sale, full price of $200.

Well worth it for light weight power drill with lots of adapters.

Battery life not the best, but size, weight and utilitarian equals it all out.

If you're going to get one drill get a hammer drill. I'm surprised how often I actually use the hammer function, especially when I'm trying to drive a screw into something that I haven't predrilled a hole for. I think the M12 is the perfect system for at home users.

You must not have discovered impact drivers yet, that's a misuse of the hammer function that will be quicker to strip your holes. Hammer drill function is for masonry and this is really too small of a drill to do that well.

This is probably the deal they will run through the end of the holiday season. It's usually this deal and the same thing on the surge m12 impact.

I've been holding out for the non-hammer version of this, but its never on sale. I have better drills for masonry, it's really not needed and just makes for a heavier tool with more parts to repair. The appeal of this is that it fits in your toolbelt easily which is nice for ladder situations where you need to predrill.

I have an impact driver but prefer the drill. Only use hammer function for initial bite. Seems to work out OK for me but I'll keep this in mind and make sure I'm not using it for the whole hole.

Thanks for this. I was about to ask if this really has enough power. I'll look into getting an M18 one.

This is a great hammer drill. With a 4.0Ah+ battery it really sings and can handle larger fasteners and mid-size range masonry tasks. Good price to buy and sell the 2.0 battery for a better net price IMO.
