Samsung's QN90D 85 inch is drawing attention as a bright, colorful mini LED TV that shines in living rooms, sports, and gaming. The picture quality gets strong praise for deep blacks, fast response, and solid standard high definition performance, and the 85 inch size feels like a major upgrade. The standout deal is the pickup price around $999 to $1200, often with a free five year Allstate warranty, though pricing varies a lot by store and delivery jumps sharply. The main drawback is the size and weight, since the box is huge and awkward to move. A strong value if local pickup is available.
bright-room or living-room TV shoppers because multiple commenters call it a "best bright-room/living room TV" and say it's "amazing" once it's on the wall.
people who can handle pickup logistics (or already have a way to move a heavy 85-inch) because several buyers say pickup pricing is the real deal (around $999-$1200) but you may need a truck or help to avoid the hassle.
Sam's Club members who want to compare warranty-included pricing because commenters report the 5-year Allstate protection shows as free for members (sometimes after deselecting at checkout) and that the $999.91 price can include it.
85-inch upgraders who already have a larger TV setup planned because one commenter says moving from a 75" to an 85" is doable (they planned to relocate a 75" to another room) and another says this price would have forced a major living room redesign if they didn't already have space.
buyers deciding between this Samsung and a competing model like the TCL QM7K because one commenter says the $999.91 price "settled my decision" between the two.
people who are relying on a specific store's online price because multiple commenters say pricing and availability vary by location (e.g., one store shows $1399 for pickup, others show $999 or $1299.91, and some locations are sold out).
buyers who want guaranteed in-stock pickup nearby because several commenters report pickup availability can be zero/out of stock even when the deal exists online, forcing them to pay more or cancel.
people who need delivery at the deal price because commenters report delivery can jump the total to around $1800-$1899.91, making the $999-$1200 pickup deal much less compelling.
shoppers who can't manage the physical weight/awkward handling because commenters warn the 85-inch is over 100 lb (and possibly ~150 lb) and "borderline impossible" to carry even with pickup.
buyers who require Dolby Vision for streaming because one commenter flags "HDR10+ only" and says they'd be "all over this" if it had Dolby Vision (implying it could be a dealbreaker for DV-focused viewers).
Yes. Some stores show about $999-$1200 for pickup, while other locations show $1299-$1399 or only a much higher shipped/delivered price around $1800-$1900. Checking the specific store, zip code, and choosing pickup instead of delivery can change the price a lot.
It can appear as free for members at checkout or in-store, even though the cart may show a $99-$139.99 add-on. Deselecting the warranty at checkout or confirming with the store can reveal the included 5-year coverage.
It is very large and heavy, with the box reported at 84" x 9" x 48 7/8" and the TV estimated at over 100 lb, possibly around 150 lb. Pickup can be awkward enough that many people need a truck, van, or delivery help.
No, it supports HDR10+ instead of Dolby Vision. That matters most if you specifically want Dolby Vision streaming or discs, but the TV is still described as strong for bright-room viewing and sports.
Yes. It is repeatedly described as extremely bright with strong color and blacks, making it a strong living-room and bright-room TV. Sports and fast motion are also called out as a strength, especially for 4K broadcasts and gaming.
I've been considering this TV since it was !$1499. Concerned from reading avsforum and reddit that the set is abandoned from Samsung for firmware support after reading a lot of the reviews about random picture quality issues.
Can anyone comment on their satisfaction with the PQ on standard high def TV like Fox Sports, ESPN, OTA?
I have it near mine for the 999 but the warranty is $100 extra?
I called my Sams Club to ask why it was 99 dollars for the 5 year warranty, when the add to cart page says free 5 year warranty. She said to deselect the warranty at check out and the 5 year warranty is free.

All state protection is additional $139.99. Am I doing something wrong ?

Just bought it 1300 shipped from samsung.com last month. 999 is absolutely fantastic price. But for this size and weight it is borderline impossible for you to carry even you have a pickup. it's like 150 lb or sth so be careful.

I got mine earlier this year and I love it.
Since this seems to be a pickup only deal, and I still happen to have my box, I thought these details might be useful to somebody.
The box dimensions:
84" long
9" wide
48 + 7/8" tall
It's a beast.
You'll struggle to move or load it by yourself just because of how awkward it is.
I can't find a label of how heavy it was with the TV in it, but I think it might have been over 100 lb.
