These plans are all the same. I got rely 5g for 30$ a month somehow. It's suppose to be 35$ but they gave some random 5$ promo, with a 200$ prepaid card that came in 2 months..
it's gonna be area dependent but I get 500-700Mbps download, around 50Mbps upload

They just take their time sending your $300 GC. The plan for them is to take a couple of billing cycles to get your GC to you and then some people will forget about their plan to drop to the lower plan. More people would forget to downgrade vs someone upgrading from 50to70 later. The few who forget to downgrade offset the loss of those who do.

Signed up for the same promo in June for $70 plan, used it for 5 months giving them enough chances moving routers and extenders, restarting them and trying to find a decent speed. Failed all the time. It was fine as the promo covered the cost for these months but happily switched back to Xfinity for $40/mo for 300mbps and the speed is night and day.

If you work from home or have any sort of heavy usage, this thing is not for you!

Does this promo work for the backup internet?
No, i checked when I signed up for Backup recently. I will add I am 100% satisfied with Backup for my use as a primary service. I get 130GB of data per month but it works for my application. And the total bill is <$22/mo after taxes.

just FYI, even the highest tier plan here doesnt have premium data. which means youll be the first line of deprioritized people when the networks start getting busy during peak times (which may be little or a lot, depending on where you live) so your internet can go from good to absolutely terrible just from that.
I have both tmobile home internet and verizon home internet, since i live in an area with no cabled internet options, and verizon actually does have a premium data home internet plan which does make a huge difference for latency if you play games. so just something to consider.
for average people just browsing videos and NOT gaming online, tmobile home internet is perfect.

I went for this deal the last time it was posted. Signed up, got the modem in the mail about 4 days later. Tried it in multiple locations in my house and had poor signal. I used it for 3 days. Returned it within the 14 day window and have been receiving bills from them for 2 months now. I've spoken to their customer service about 6 times so far and continue to receive past due bills. It's frustrating and have been told it will be resolved within the next billing cycle. Just received another past due bill today! Wanted to post my experience

I think the Backup plan is a great deal. I don't use it for primary, but we get outages fairly often and it works great.

How has connection been? I work from home and sometimes my kids are watching YouTube or playing on the PS5. And I have a bunch of cameras and Smart appliances in my house. Would you recommend this?
If you live under a cell tower. Otherwise upload speeds are horrible, especially during rush hour and nights.

If only I could get my $400+ tax fee for non-return of modem credited since they acknowledge that it was returned and is in their system for months as having been received in good condition. (Original box and everything, how do these companies all suck so bad?)

Nothing good, I remember when this was being offered for like $25 a month now that its over $50 for the plans that are actually worth it, seems like not much of a deal....

Signed up last year thru a cashback website that was giving a $150 sign-up bonus, T-Mobile was charging $50/month. I'm in Los Angeles; If I recall correctly, I was receiving about 300Mbps download and 50Mbps upload speeds.

At that time, T-Mobile was also issuing a VISA sign-up bonus, but there was an issue with my auto-payment and was late with my first monthly payment. Due to this, they disqualified me from their sign-up bonus. I cancelled the service after 3 months.

Of note, I did notice a slight lag compared to the Spectrum Internet service that I was receiving concurrently for a short-time. If I'm not mistaken, the lag was due to extra signal hops from 5G router to cell tower to network hub.

T-mobile is a master of not paying these out. They'll advertise the prepaid cards but good luck ever getting it.
Yup, and nothing new about their games to not pay out. I had to get a lawyer to remind them I was owed a rebate (thanks prepaid legal!).

Also this service isn't a comparable replacement to cable or fiber, it is a lot slower and more laggy. At least at my location.
