MSI's RTX 5070 12GB 2X OC lands as a strong midrange 1440p card with real gaming headroom, especially at the $450 to $459 range. The Shadow version is the one tied to the SIXSEVEN coupon, and that discount has worked intermittently through checkout and customer service chat. Real world reports point to smooth Cyberpunk with path tracing and DLSS Quality, quiet enough fans, and decent temps even in a smaller case. The main knocks are the 12GB memory limit, which feels better for 1080p to 1440p than 4K, and some concern about Ventus and Shadow cooler quality. A solid value if the coupon is still active and 12GB fits your use case.
Common Questions (5)
The SIXSEVEN coupon is tied to the MSI Shadow 2X model and often does not apply to the Ventus listing. A workaround is to add both cards to cart, apply the code to the Shadow, then remove the Ventus while keeping the discount.
The coupon can hit an "already claimed" error because it appears to have limited redemptions and may be throttled by time window. Refreshing and retrying repeatedly can eventually make it apply again.
Yes, the card was still being offered for $459 through customer service chat in some cases. That route was used after the public coupon deal became unreliable.
12GB is generally considered fine for up to 1440p, while 16GB or more is preferred for 4K. It may be acceptable now, but more demanding games can expose limits later.
The Ventus can nearly max Cyberpunk with path tracing and DLSS Quality, and it also runs Expedition 33 smoothly at max settings. Fan noise and temperatures were reported as fine in a fairly small case, though true SFF cases may be tighter.
