MSI's RTX 5070 12GB 2X OC lands as a strong midrange 1440p card with real gaming headroom, especially at the $450 to $459 range. The Shadow version is the one tied to the SIXSEVEN coupon, and that discount has worked intermittently through checkout and customer service chat. Real world reports point to smooth Cyberpunk with path tracing and DLSS Quality, quiet enough fans, and decent temps even in a smaller case. The main knocks are the 12GB memory limit, which feels better for 1080p to 1440p than 4K, and some concern about Ventus and Shadow cooler quality. A solid value if the coupon is still active and 12GB fits your use case.

  • The SHADOW model can receive the SIXSEVEN coupon discount during checkout.

  • Customer service chat can reportedly price the card at $459 using a $100 off approach.

  • A workaround can keep the discount applied to SHADOW even after removing VENTUS from the cart.

  • Real-world gaming performance can be strong with the Ventus, including path tracing with DLSS Quality.

  • The card can show improved 4K smoothness and better PCVR performance after upgrading from a 4070 Super.

  • The SIXSEVEN coupon may only work for the MSI SHADOW model and not for the MSI VENTUS model.

  • The SIXSEVEN coupon can fail with an error stating the eCoupon has already been claimed.

  • The SIXSEVEN coupon may require repeated refresh attempts before it applies successfully.

  • MSI VENTUS/SHADOW cards can be associated with loud fans and high temperatures in reports.

The 12GB version is pretty weak ... I wouldn't bother unless you're only running at 1080p.
12gb is generally fine. It's not like 8gb cards where there are obvious issues in lots of games even at 1080p. Any memory issues are pretty edge case right now. It will probably have more problems in the future and a 16gb card would be nice but at this price point it's only $20 more than the 5060ti 16gb MSRP and definitely going to give substantially more performance in almost all cases. Probably won't see lots of issues with 12gb cards until the next gen consoles come out and become more common because that's about what most consoles have available now so games can't really go beyond that at reasonable settings without having problems on consoles.

Doesn't it really depend on what you're playing?

My system is still rocking a 1080 and I'd consider myself a midrange gamer (nothing super high end) and mine does fine with my 2k 144Hz monitor for the games I play. I'm floored people pay almost $500 for a modern graphics card and consider it a great deal. ouch.

Obviously??? There are games where you can go over 20 gb vram at 1440p and there are games at 4k that use less than 1gb of vram.

Got my Ventus yesterday evening, installed this morning. I'm sure everyone already knows what this card can do, but it's the first time I've been able to nearly max out Cyberpunk with path tracing enabled and DLSS Quality, and it looks phenomenal. Expedition 33 with completely maxed settings (again DLSS Quality because why not) was also running smoothly.

Fan doesn't sound too loud to me, and temps are fine in a fairly small case. Don't know how it would do in a true SFFPC that's very confined though.

Nice I recommend doing a slightly Undervolt + oc bc these Blackwell cards have a ton of oc headroom. You can uv while boosting the core clock to 3000 or even higher.Memory can also be oced +3000 which is the max nvidia allows

I use afterburner to oc and have been able to get over 3300-3400(full oc no undervolt) on the clock for the Blackwell cards from around 2700 stock which is over a 20 percent increase. The memory also ocs very well and could even go higher if nvidia didn't limit it
