Automatic Update Expiration of June 2031.

AUE support is typically ten (10) years. The AUE date being only 6 years out reinforces the age of the device: released in 2022. However, there's plenty of good news here:
  • The dual-core N4500 Jasper Lake CPU remains a solid value or even mid-tier option for ChromeOS.
  • The presumably low-end TN screen does at least offer 1080p resolution.
The most signification compromises are honestly to be expecated at this price point for something that is otherwise being sold brand new in retail. Notably:
  • 4GB of RAM
Functional for ChromeOS today but may or may not become more limiting over the next 6 years of updates. Some of this will surely depend upon application.
  • No touchscreen
For many users, especially price-sensitive ones, this is a non-issue (if not a value-add for buyers seeking simplicity). However, I always mention this for ChromeOS given that Android app support is invariably more natural with a touchscreen.
This device is best-suited to someone seeking a widely available, basic education option or for other minimal browsing functionality. Note that finding a slickdeal with more RAM (8GB) and/or touchscreen would typically put you in the $150-200 range (or higher).

Good luck!
Jon
